Hi everyone,

I have met a few really awesome people on this forum, who I'm happy to say have become lifelong friends. In the truest sense of that statement, one of our close friends has passed, you may have know him on here as Orthoboy. He had an amazing love for firearms and his estate has asked my help to determine the value of a few of his firearms. This HK G36 sort of has me stumped. I have read a lot about HK G36's being assembled parts with locally sourced barrels. This one seems to have a real HK barrel. The serial number begins with 85-037###. Here are a few pictures. If you can tell me anything about this firearm, including an estimated value I and Orthoboy's family would greatly appreciate it.

Sincerely,
Storm

Sorry to here another gunny has passed. When they originally came into the country they were around $2200. That's the cheapest I personally see them, $3000 was the next cheapest. Every time they changed hands they usually sold for at least a $1000 more. They topped out around $10,000. With the liberal's threat of a gun ban, I doubt you will get that. The liberals probably killed the market on most semi-auto military rifles.

You might get better info on HKPRO, the HK market is much bigger in the US. It's looks like the 'real deal" though, if so they sell in the price range of $8-10000.

It has an HK G36E Barrel and (based on the barrel) likely has a German-proofed Bolt as well, making it a "thoroughbred" G36. The approximate value a few months ago would have been $10K. Nowadays with the threat of a ban hanging overhead of all semi-automatic firearms, your guess as to value is as good as anyone else's. I would start at $7K and see if there are any takers....
