Hey all,
I'm currently interested in a HK Mark23. What do you think I should be paying for this as I am mixed prices from all i have asked.
I have been told figures ranging from $1800 - $2500 (CDN of course).

And I also hear that the next batch will be running approx. $1700 USD (These apparently come in a differnt finishing than the older ones)

Anyhelp is greatly appreciated :)

Yes i know they are big :D
Hmmm I've seen one for about 2400 after taxes. Does that sound right to anyone?

sounds high to me. You can have it, they're huge, and not very comfortable to shoot period. Even the great big guy I know who bought one sold it. That, and if I'm gonna buy a huge pistol I'll buy me a desert eagle in .50 AE.

I've never seen the Mark 23's appeal; IMO it's just another .45... for the price you can get a DE or nice custom 1911.

If you must get an HK I'd say get a USP, but make sure you handle one before you buy it.

The USP45 Tac would be a cheaper, viable alternative to the Mark23. but hey, i wouldnt mind having a Mark23 either, so i know where you're coming from.

Price new on the Mark23 is in the $2100 ball park...
Used, you're looking at $1500 to $1800 depending on condition, accessories, etc.
They are a BIG gun, and the relatively high bore line makes them move quite a bit in your hands...
Other than that, they are fun to shoot and have some cache of ownership.
IF you've got your heart set on one...indulge yourself...I did...but I didn't end up keeping it as the package just didn't do it for me.

I've owned a couple.... ditto what Foxbat says about the high bore axis. It was one aspect of the gun I did not enjoy. The safety also dug into my thumb knuckle (I am a lefty). I bought mine for $1995 plus taxes from Wild West Shooting Centre. TSE has 'em for about the same price too. This is cheaper than past prices.

USP tactical for sure because of the size. I have small hands so I decided on the USP tactical, has most of the features of the Mk.23 and lower price. If you don't have large hands might be problem for ya for the Mk.23

Maybe even consider a USP Expert. I would pass on the 23 though, alot of what makes it an interesting gun you wouldnt be able to take advantage of in a range gun.
