Hello everyone,

Just purchased an mr 308 and am looking to replace the stock. From what I've managed to find about the mr stock and buffer tube online it seems the buffer tube is bigger in diameter than the usual ar15/ar10's? Im not sure if ive read right but in order for me to replace the stock i could purchase say a milspec ar10 buffer tube, spring and then mount a milspec magpul stock? I havent read anything about if the buffer tube threads and nuts are the same for the mr308 and ar15/ar10's? Anyone with some solid info on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks and keep that brass fly'n :)

Are you serious! With the elcan on top of that! Really nice! As they say in french" ta pas ete avec le dos de la cuillere"

Not sure ive ever heard that one before... but thank u? lol

In short it means that: you ain't a cheap ba$tard and didn't cut any corners about your latest purchase

And I agree - well done Steve!

Can't offer any advise regarding the stock Hk buffer tube size.

Any reasons in particuliar you're looking at changing it? If it was me, I'd be going for a UBR instead of a CRT as it would probably balance out better.

You will have to measure your tube. Commercial armalite Ar 10 buffer tubes are the same dia and thread as an ar 15. The fixed stock ar10 tube is the same as the ar15, but the carbine tube is longer (although by using a differant buffer you can use an ar 15 tube). With the carbine AR10 tube it just means that if you collapse the stock completely the buffer tube sticks out the end of the stock about an inch.

Worked a slower night shift last night and spent it all pretty well reading on what my options were with this thing. Ended up ordering some parts from slash's heavy buffers. Sounds like its exactly what I was lookin for.

Have been kinda goin back and forth between the ubr and ctr. Have loved the look of the ctr and like how its a pound lighter than tje ubr. But ya itd probably be a little front heavy with the ctr.

Hey and thanks for clarifying the french for me. Thanks for the positive comments :)

It proprietor meaning only the two HK stocks are available for it, there is a new stock that is very good as well that might give you more of what you are looking for, same stock from the G28 the German military just purchased.

Try adding the Convex buffer pad on you're stock in the mean time, Tactical Imports might be able to order you one of the new G28 stocks!
