HK MR308 mags?

Ask LEI Ltd. yourself (assuming you are referring to my post). They were the ones who released the info.

But as for experience, I own(ed, sold/transferring) a LMT 308MWS w/ 16" CL.

I believe you, Some of my Buddy got the LMT 308 and they are very happy, I myself own 2 Armalites AR10T and HKMR308, and got to say that the HK are Outstanding in Accuracy department. for a 16" barrel, they rifle sure can shoot.

I think the original deadline from RFP to gun submission was 30 days or something ridiculous... I think every company was kind of 'oh s**t, submit something!', even KAC.

Was looking into a .308 AR down the road and was eying up a SR-25 but they seem to be rare up here and pricey. I kinda like what Im reading about the LMT option, and the barrel swap feature looks quite nice.

Anyone have any info on performance with the 20" stainles barrel?
Everyone I know or have talked to with the 20" vs. 16" (CL to CL, SS to SS) are seeing no real accuracy increase... but the extra 100-150FPS of muzzle velocity from the extra 4" of bbl will help in those 1000m+ shots.

16" SS barrels on the MWS already doing sub-MOA out to 800m.... Hard to complain about that.

As for the SR-25's; Rare? Not that bad, they are trickling in, but they are coming in. Expensive? Yes, relatively speaking.
$ for $, from a accuracy standpoint it's hard to beat the LMT MWS.

From what LMT told me there was sufficient time to meet the RFP (they did it ;)). I was also told that KAC was not asked to submit and did not submit an entry... and that the Brit's told them straight up that their gun was too expensive to meet the price range that was being looked for (ie: even if the gun met their requirements they couldn't afford to buy them).

At the time of the RFP the KAC gun already existed so submitting it should have been relatively easy for KAC... LMT was just in the process of releasing their new MWS commercially when they were asked to submit for MoD, so LMT actually modified their entry (barrel change from the planned commercial offering).

I'm sure KevinB knows more about the details of what went on at that time (if he chooses and/or is allowed to share them).

I read that KAC's rep for the UK submitted a gun that still used the clip on shell deflector, and thus precluded the mounting of options that got them disqualified from the contract outright.

There was a reason that the EMC was not submitted.
