Hk mr308

Back when MR223 was announced, people here were saying that we would never see it because the market is too small, it's too expensive, restricted, blah, blah, blah. Now they are saying the same thing about the 308. Draw your own conclusions.

And for the record, every single HK firearm that is a) currently in production, b) not prohibited in Canada, and c) authorized for sale to civilians by the German government is available for purchase in this country.

A better question is... Do you really want one?

AR10's are, in general, pretty high-quality already. I know some people will buy HK just for HK's sake, but it probably won't be compatible with standard AR10 parts (great fun if you want/need to change/replace anything), have few if any improvements, have a much bigger price tag and still be considered an "AR15 variant"...

MR308 is not an AR10. It's piston-operated, as opposed to direct impingement. Not to mention, HK's build quality cannot be compared to the likes of Armalite and RRA.

These guns have not been out long enough to discover all their abilities and iron out any problems. At first taught it is attractive to have a 308 in “”HOPEFULLY”” non restricted. That’s not even for sure.

But the more I think about this is like buying a brand new automobile that has just been launched. I might give it some more time.

The MR223 doesn't use Direct Impingement either, but it is considered an AR-15 variant.

Hell, even calling the AR-10 an AR-15 variant is incorrect. Do you think they really care?

I'm not saying it's not an AR variant. My point is that a piston system offers a number of advantages over direct impingement that some people are willing to pay extra $$$ for.

Well you have to factor in the fact that how many cases of hk416 upper were circulating around the world with AR-15 Lower? I know MR223/MR556 does not have the compatibility, but it still makes a target

Exactly. If it were compatible with an AR-15 lower, even if it was restricted, it wouldn't be quite as gimped. The worst of both worlds...
