I live close to Toronto and wanted to know if there is a place I can get a trigger job done on my new HKP30L LEM model. I think it is the variant with 6lbs trigger. I'd like to get it into the V1 area (4.5lbs). This is my first HK and I wanted to give the company a chance and use it for my black badge.
Thanks

The only LEM trigger P30 series that I know of in Canada are all V1... You might want to take a look at the case your gun came in and see which trigger variant you actually have. The LEM trigger is loooooong and a bit different feeling, but you can get used to it.

If you do actually have a v2 or v4, then getting the parts in Canada to change it to a V1 may be a bit of a hassle... You might be better off selling it and buying a V1 or V3 variant. Just a thought...

You only have to change out a few springs to reduce an LEM to V1 which is 4.5 to 5 lbs. Go to HKPRO for more information

Actually I bought the gun off the exchange and havn't received it yet. It may be a V1, previous owner thought the trigger pull was about 6lbs. If it is a V1 how can I reduce the trigger? I'm used to 4.5lbs Glocks so i'm trying to get it as close as possible

I know that with the USP's, it is usually a matter of swapping out the trigger return spring and firing pin block spring. The hammer spring remains the same LEM one that either comes with the pistol, or in a kit. If it has the heavier trigger return spring, swap it out for the lighter one. As for the firing pin block spring, for the USP anyway, all new models are currently being sold with the light FPB (PN 209296)...they swapped over to a "new" style in 2005, I believe (AF date code).

But again, not sure if this is the same for the P30. I don't see why it would be any different, but you never know...

USP, P2000, P30 all use similar trigger springs, firing pin safety springs. Combinations of these give you the different trigger pull weights.

Once you change springs, shoot or dry fire it a thousand times and the trigger will smooth out. Just note, LEM triggers will never be as crisp as a true single action trigger.

I went on HKpro and they suggested

"If yours is indeed a V1, it is already the lightest official HK LEM variant. However, you can swap out the hammer spring for the V3 DA/SA version (part number 214300) and this will reduce your trigger pull by about a pound (15-20%). Personally, I don't see any need for a trigger that light, but it's up to you. "

Would you HK guys suggest this as a viable way to reduce trigger pull?
