HK P30L versus CZ75B Pros, cons.

Sooooo. I'm thinking of selling my p226, because frankly every time I look at it, it makes me angry at how I can't shoot that gun well at all.

I handled a P30L and a CZ75B satin finish from a fellow CGNer at the range the other day, both sure felt awesome in my hands. I'm leaning towards the CZ because we're slowly turning into a CZ family but that HK felt really nice.

What are your thoughts on both pistols? Aside from the obvious 100$+- price difference, what are the pros and cons of each?

P30l has a really crappy trigger, although I hear the LEM version is better. I REALLY love my HK 45 though
 
I have owned all three pistols you mentioned. I think you'll be happy with the CZ. The HK really doesn't have a very good trigger at all.
If I still shot da/sa pistols, it would be CZ for sure.

I want to try the VP9, badly. May bring me back to HK.
 
I have shot the CZ, I own a P30 and three 226s

The P30 trigger is a duty trigger, and is designed for LEO and military use with a heavy trigger pull (or long in the LEM model)

The sig 226 trigger can be nice especially with the SRT upgrade.

The CZ is a nice gun as well. I will be adding one to my collection when I find a trade package I like.

My advice would be to try to upgrade your sig to the SRT if it doesn't have it already, and polish your trigger mech.
You can also try different grips.

If you still do not want the sig, PM me, I am always looking for another.


Some Pros and Cons for the HK (since I own one)

Pro:

Great ergonomics, Most adjustable grip on the market for a stock gun.
Absolutely reliable, (testing of the design's big brother went almost 100,000 rounds with only 7 cleanings)
Very accurate provided shooter has some skill.
nice factory sights IMO
It is an HK :D

Con:
Trigger is not a competition friendly trigger and takes some getting used to.
price of gun and mags is up there
holster choices are limited (or used to be)

I love my CZ 75B. Everything about it in my opinion is great, but not quite perfect (sights, control positions, weight, feel in the hand, etc.) It's my first handgun, but I've only shot about 6 other pistols, and none of them were the HK P30L. Basically I'm a complete pistol noob, so my opinion doesn't mean much. lol
 
Go with the CZ first. I have the satin Nickel as well. I will not say anything bad about the HK...except put your savings into some extra mags, and ammo. You will most likely pickup the HK later if you like it so much anyway:)
You will have no regrets with the CZ.

What is it about the 226 that makes you shoot badly? Ergos, high bore axis, trigger pull, general inaccuracy?
How do you do with other handguns? I haven't shot a 226 in 25 yrs but remembered how good they were back then.
I had a 220 in .45 back then so never got the 226. Sold my 220 and 23 years later, bought another 220! Love that gun!

Not sure what SRT kit costs these days, but honestly it makes the 226 surprise you.
A number of the dealers up too there will have the kit, and it is not overly difficult to install.
 
I hear ya. I love my SIG but not because I can shoot it well, at least my DA/SA SIG in DA, trigger reach is just too long. SA is great and DAK is good. Love the ergos of my CZ but I prefer DA/SA guns or DAO like DAK.
 
I own a CZ 75 and I love it. The ergonomics don't SEEM great when you look at the pistol, but it's like CZ tool a mold of my hand and made the pistol for me and I have a fairly large hand.
The trigger is good for me, but I don't have any experience with any highly tuned or competition pistols.
Magazines were a pain to find, but wolverine has E-lander and factory 9MM in stock as well at a reasonable price.
I have no experience with a sig, so I can't comment on that one.
 
I had a P30 and 226, I also fired the CZ. I shot the P30 best out of all of them. The only issue I had with the P30 was the length of the slide release. My thumb interfered with the slide locking back. The S model or installing the shorter slide release nullifies this issue. Mags are costly for it too.
 
I already have a shadow orange, my wife has a regular shadow, so Im obviously not going to get another shadow, thats why i thought the 75b might be nice.

I can pop clays at 20 yards with my shadow orange all day. The sig forget trying that ever, that nasty grindy trigger and that fat grip are the biggest issues.
