About a year ago I took the plunge I bought my first hangun, a Glock 17 and I must say that I really like this handgun, but I would like to try something new. I narrowed down my choice to either a Sig P226 or a Hk P30L LEM (V1).

I had the chance to shoot a P226 and really like it, and the P30L I tried was in SA/DA and the trigger wasn't as good as the Sig but the grip of the HK is
incredible and fits my hand perfectly. My concern is that I never tried a LEM trigger and I keep hearing good stuff about them, so for people who tried the LEM what can you say about them?
This gun will be used for range/target shooting, should I go the with the SA/DA of the Sig or the LEM of the HK's?

Got Sig ?

You can always get the sig in DAK model which is double action only. It is very nice. I have one. It will then boil down to how they fit in your hand and plastic versus metal. That will be your decision.

I have owned both a v1 (LEM) and a v3 (DA/SA) P30L and they are both amazing guns. But I would take the v1 LEM anyday over the DA/SA v3. It's hard to describe to someone that isn't holding one in their hand, but the lem is amazing. The trigger pull is incredibly light (surprisingly light for a DA), the trigger reset is short and very tactile and once reset, the trigger is crisp and light. I think (at least for me) the LEM on the P30L is the next best trigger to a 1911.

If you can find a v1, buy it as soon as you can. They are hard to find and they don't last long on dealers' shelves. But that being said, I don't think you will be disappointed with the v3 if you decide to go that way. Either way, you're getting a terrific gun.
