Any troops out there recently join the HK P7 club?
Just waiting on the transfer, and shipping. I'm getting pretty excited, since I'll be new to a "squeeze cocker" type of pistol. Well its always nice to get another HK.

Well most folks say that they are a really "bang on" pistol. That said, Walt was great to deal with and what the hell, its a HK!!.

I remember when I first saw a P7, I really thought it was fugly. Got mine recently, love it. A very unique and accurate handgun, hard to imagine one not enjoying it. I was never a big H&K fan but this gun has certainly converted me to the cult:)

Hi,

Where did you guys get the P7's??

I have the P7M8....x3 I loved it so much, wouldn't mind a P7 for under $1K though.

I'm trying to get a hold of a nice grade A PSP. Will try through Questar. I eventually want the entire P7 line-up. PSP, P7M8, P7M13 and P7M10. Too bad the P7K3 is prohib.

I am considering getting a P7. What are the differences in the models, which would be the "one" to get..... not including the prohib ?

Thanks

Jay

The PSP is the cheapest, with many having come into Canada recently in the $850 range (former German police department refurbs). It has a European style heel mag release, and it's mags hold eight rounds.

The P7M8 has the more modern style side magazine release, and also has single stack magazines with eight round capacity. Some of these are (I believe) still available new in box, although it has been discontinued. These are priced in the $1800 - $2000 range.

The P7M13 is a double stack equivalent to the M8, and would normally hold 13 rounds, if not for our laws which restrict it to 10. It's a bit bigger than the others, obviously. These are also in the $2000 range.

I'm not specifically familiar with the M10, but I would guess it has a ten round magazine capacity.

Magazines are rare and expensive for all of these ... perhaps most so for the P7 PSP, with its recent releases here and in the USA fueling mass purchasing of available supplies. I'm hoping I can find even just one more mag (for a whopping total of 2) for my PSP.

I would argue that the "one to get" is the PSP, if only for the much lower price of the recently imported refurbs. I've lusted over the P7M8 for years, but $2000 could buy me alot of different very nice guns, and I've never been able to justify it for that one.

The M10 came in .40 S&W and, as you surmised, had a magazine capacity of 10 rounds.

That's correct. The M10 is a .40SW version. It is has a grip that is wide, like the M13, but the slide is taller and heavier. They came blued or nickel. They only ever made about 1000 of the blued ones.

There was one for sale on a auction site .I missed out buying it .It would make a nice safe queen next to my P7M13 .

Over the years I've owned three of them. First was a PSP bought in the US in the 80s and later sold to a guy who offered me enough that I couldn't refuse. Second also a PSP in the US. Had to give it up when I moved to Canada because CFC told me they were prohibited. Last year got an M8 from Wolverine. Sorry I had to give up the PSP though; I like the bottom mag release. They're just the best; wonderfully designed to be as compact as a fully-barrelled 9 can be, fits my hand just right, has never had a feed problem and has among the best accuracy available.

I'm starting to think any P7 on the Canadian market has at least once passed through the hands of UncleWalther. Walther, surrender your M10 to me.

I don't own that M10 anymore, but coincidentally, you know who owns it now. Remember the P7M8 / P7M13 deal we did? Well, the other party in that deal is now the proud owner of the P7M10 in the pic.
