HK SFP9-OR Availability in Canada?

Looking to pick up my first handgun and have narrowed it down to the HK SFP9-OR

I cant seem to find a retailer that has them in stock. The closest I've seen is the SFP9L-OR, the long slide version but I prefer the shorter slide.
Hoping I can find a shop that has inventory or can order one for me.

I've been waiting/ looking for the regular slide version as well, ever since the VP-9 version hit the US marker earlier this year. The short answer is that there aren't any in Canada. This latest batch of long slide, side-button ones that are now hitting the shelves of Canadian retailers is all we have for now.

I've tried asking the importer about when we might see the short slide ones and they just keep deleting my posts. lol So I'm guessing it's going to be a while. Plus HK is apparently running way behind as they struggle to keep up with military and agency orders.

Thanks, looks like you're in the same boat as me then. Thanks for the info. Wasn't sure how things worked with the distributors etc, but one shop got back to me and said they don't do special orders any more with HK becuase the lead times are too long. I guess I'll have to wait.
 
Just keep in mind that anything with a barrel less than 105mm is prohibited here. Majority of common shortframe pistols are 4".

So we have "target" pistols with a 5" barrels.

Same here! That said, it did take a period of adjustment to transition over to it from push button. HK has always had paddle releases and only really added the push button mag release to cater to a very stubborn US market where HK USA is now trying to sell the VP9 as an IPSC/IDPA gun but competitors were very reluctant to give the paddle release a fair chance. Old habits die hard....
