hi. i have a question about the hk sl7. ever since i was a kid i thought the 770 was a cool firearm. of course, the sl7 is even cooler, but harder to find. my understanding is that, with the exception of some canadian-market sl7's that are unobtainium, the few sl7's that are avaiable are considered restricted due to 18" barrel.
so, the question (and pls point me to an applicable thread if asked before): can i permanently attach a muzzle device to an 18" barrel to get it up over the 18.5" limit? does the work need to be done by a 'manufacturer'? or is the restricted status non-negoiable once on the 'list'? and, how would that impact the importation process (the few sl7's for sale are in the us of a)?
