HK SL8/243/G36 FAQ, Mods, And Info

Hello, could you please clarify Item 1 of the Zeroing Procedure in your post - the center of 3-shot group should be 45 mm or 145 mm low of point of aim for 200 meter zero? There is a "1" there before 45 mm, it is unclear whether it is "Target 1" or 145 mm.

Does anyone know which 1913 stocks have the right length of pull for an SL8 with Hera kit?

Midwest Industries makes a side folder that looks alright.

Man, and I thought I was paying too much at $89.99 (in my view it is too much for what you are getting). But hey it could be worse. The Tikka CTR/TACT A1 mags are $200.00+ each after taxes.

I just don't get how something mostly made of plastic can be sold for that much. I recently was looking for a 3-round all plastic OEM mag for my Franchi .308 rifle and the cheapest (and really the only price) I saw was $85.00. For an all plastic thing that holds only 3-rounds.

I guess in the case of the SL8, looking at the bright side...could be worse...for $114 it could be a single stack... I am surprised given how Magpul has had success in third party offerings, why they haven't tried to get into the SL8 space yet...unless the market is such that it doesn't have the numbers to sustain the R&D costs...

Magpul did a run of double stack magazines with the cut outs last year. I saw them selling for $100, not much better. The best really is to take the good old dremel for either the mags or the receiver. With the receiver mod it takes both the G36 and the original SL-8 double stacks.
 
Stanag Magwell Adapter for SL8

##### Armoury sells Tommy Built adapters. I bought one and installed and it works perfectly. You'll have to remove factory mag release mechanism to fit it in.
 
Hey guys - I am looking to pull the trigger on an SL8 and want to do the Hera upgrade to it. I am looking for a folding stock for it - but am having issues finding one (Preferably folding). Does anyone have any leads/ideas? Thanks!

My tentative approach is a buffer tube to 1913 adapter with one of the many 1913 folding stocks available. Haven't gotten too far into the research yet and the correct length of pull is unclear so far.

Otherwise try to find an ACR stock.

put the hera adaptor on it and run an ar-style stock until you can find an acr stock. if not new/used here then go to inca importers and bring one in from the states. otherwise put a 1913 adaptor in the ar stock block and run a 1913 stock. kns makes an adaptor - not sure where available. xtreme in winnipeg sells 1913 sig-style stocks. lots of 1913 folding adaptors available.
 
Since they rebooted production in 2021 they quit chrome lining the barrels. Anyone know if they are even more accurate now?
