Hk sl8-4

Much more practical to dremel or chisel out the tabs inside the magazine well rather than mess around with each original G36 magazine.

Original g36 mags can not be modified to work, not enough material.

Pmags are easy to get and much less costly than original

If you replace original HK magwell on the SL8 with Tommybuilt Stanag magwell, be aware that you will have to remove original mag release lever. The replacement magwell won't fit otherwise.

If you do the AR mag conversion, you still have to do dremel work. Many people are claiming you don't but today I took the magwell adapter off (that's what it is, this is an adapter not the full magwell) and measured, even the most narrow AR mag (MFT) will not fit in without dremel work to the receiver magwell. Heck, if you cannot put an AR magazine in fully without the adapter, how do you do it with the adapter. Piece of crap for $400.

This guy tried it haha, and it doesn't matter which magwell adapter you have. He is pissed and so would I

I like to add, you don't even need the magwell adapter to put a magazine in. Sits perfectly fine without it - the mag catch for the standard mag is in the mag release. I trust I am the only "genius" who ever tried this. The only thing the AR magwell adapter does is to hold the AR magazine in place with an added mag catch, that's all.

depends on your manual of arms. good luck not breaking your grip to do a mag swap with the oem unit. not sure why people lose their minds over 15 seconds of filing on the receiver.

Because many believe it has to be to one thou tolerance, lol. Even the original setup has as much play as ..... fill in as you please.

Hello guys , I plan to buy HK SL8-4 rifle, does anyone have experience with this gun? has any kit to change the stock? this gun is worth to buy it? the gun is 39" in length. is it big? Thanks

Unless you want something with long-range accuracy, find a G36 instead. They're much more fun for run-and-gun or carrying in the outdoors for close to medium range targets. SL8's more a DMR-role rifle.... more accurate than a G36, in my experience, but with trade-offs around weight and balance.

It is the same weight as a SKS actually. I took the bulky top mount rail off and put a Hera Arms 2 piece rail on it. Then used a Primary Arms basic mount and mounted a LSVP scope on it because the rail is short. The popular Crusader Templar has around the same weight. It is not front heavy with a scope and mount.

I stand by what I said. G36 is much more fun for run-and-gun or carrying in the outdoors for close to medium range targets than an SKS, as well!
