i bought an HK-SL8m last year, shot a couple of boxes (factory ammo).
this year i try to sight my riffle wioth the new scope and still same problem, rifle shooting everywhere but where i'm aimming....

Then i decide to bring it to KS arm gunsmith and after inspection ive been told that the inside barrel is pitted and look like its loosing its chrome...

Made a few phone call and maybey part (barrel) not available for month's...maybey year :bangHead:

Any suggestion or someone selling a barrel somewhere?

Hi. This is the site problem forum. Ask on the Battle Rifles forum. However, pitting is caused by rust over a long time. Was the rifle new? Not cleaning properly after shooting corrosive ammo will do it
It's a different issue from the shooting issue. That's most likely the scope mount or the ammo.

Barrel is available from Wolverine Supplies custom order from HK in Germany. Will run you about 1100$.

Accuracy could be horrid due to the fact that the barrel is a 1 in 7 inch twist, meaning that light ammunition (anything below 62grain (4 gram)) will be spun too fast to be stable, and will tumble. You WILL find keyholing (where the bullet entered sideways) with the light ammunition. What ammunition are you using?

Try the rifle with heavier ammo. Some people have very good results with stuff like hand-loaded 77 grain ammo. The SL8/G36 platform is NOT a Mini 14.

Also, triple check what your gunsmith says. It is difficult to imagine that an HK barrel would be pitted from sport use, especially when it is lined by a solid layer of chrome. Many gunsmiths jump to conclusions. Get other opinions.

Try heavier grain bullets. Maybe 69 grain. It could be that standard 55 grain are slightly unstable with your barrel twist. Before you take things apart, I would spend $20 on a box of heavier ammo.

show me some pictures or physics.

Surprisingly my SL8 shoots 45gr bullets really well, 69gr shoot better though . 55gr were not good at all.

Like others have said check you scope, mounts and use different ammo.

Good luck.
