Hi all i bought a USP in .40 and was able to find out what all the markings and stamps mean except one on the slide it has the HK logo and right beside it there is a little round symbol with JS in the middle. no other HK I have seen has this stamp what does this mean it's also on the barrel behind the HK but really small.

It designates where the pistol was made, but I don't know details.

Jagd und Sport waffen

Hunting and sport arms, I read that is marked on all HK pistols since a few years. My 2006 Mark23 Is marked as such too.

Edit: Maybe not "all HK pistol for a few years", might be more like the market these pistol are made for. I checked a previous mark 23 tread and noticed that both pistol shown 2007 and 2008 production didn't have such marking. Just curious, what year of production is marked on your USP ?

Well now I'm confused, perhaps they don't put the JS logo anymore, I'll have to check out at the club tommorow.

The logo was for handguns destined to the civilian market, the law enforcement and military aren't supposed to have it.
