First Post hopefully I am in the right section.

Buying a HK USC .45 Are the UMP Conversion Kits available . Just wondering if anyone has taken on and finished a project like this in Canada.

Nope. Well depending what you are looking for. If you mean a Tommy Built conversion then no. Some have sent their guns to him to get done in the USA. That is an administrative nightmare. Can be done but I couldn't be bothered with the hassle. It would take a book to explain how to get a gun sent to the USA that can't normally be imported there and back. Hera Arms makes a conversion that is good but does not make it exactly like a UMP. Does allow use of AR or ACR stocks and the original single stack mags and the Hera 5/20 and Promag 5/20, 5/15, 5,10rd. The conversions can be had from Wolverine. Not cheap though. Lastly you could just buy a UMP. They are out there but in the 9-10K range. You could also have the conversion parts sent from the states via IRG. That's an option as well but again time consuming and expensive.

Good Luck

Mine is a Tom Bostic (Tommybuilt) full-on UMP-45 conversion with the correct Receiver laser markings, etc. The back end of a genuine UMP Receiver was "welded" onto a USC-45 Receiver front end and then fully refinished. The correct "Hook" was formed on the Ejection Port Fence to secure the folded Buttstock. And so on and so forth. Mine is even registered by the CFC as a restricted semi-auto UMP-45, vice a USC....

Man, you have so many awesome guns.

This is an amazing piece! Great job. Very nice dude. Thank you for all the info. If I can ask some questions.
(You could also have the conversion parts sent from the states via IRG.)<-- What is this option IRG? What is IRG? Does this work as far as buying the USC .45 and converting it with this kit? Approximately what would this conversion package cost vis the states? Thanks and again that's a really nice piece.

IRG = I Run Guns, a site-sponsor business that specializes in the cross-border movement of firearms and components. Go to their ad in the website banner and read all about their importation fees and services. I do not know what a UMP conversion package would cost to purchase from a US source. There are several potential sources from HKParts.net to Midwestindustries.com in the USA. Just do a Google search for HK parts and numerous potential sources will pop up. I recommend starting with HKParts.net and seeing if they have what you want in stock. Then you have to factor in the cost of the importation through IRG (or another cross-border broker).

Thank you! I'm going to look into it. I am willing to pay. Your gun is just sick. And the base gun I start with would be the hk USC ?
