I have an HK-USP Tactical .45 Auto and the 2 magazines I have dont hold the slide open on the last shot.

At first they did, but after 1000 rounds and counting that has changed. I have even tried taking the mags apart and gently stretching the springs and allowing them to "'breath".....but back at the range the same thing.

Is there a sulution to this problem? Is there a new spring I can buy that is "HI-Performance" and will be strong/durable enough to last under tention.

The mags still feed amazinely and I haven't had one single problem, except for the slide not locking open.

Thanks for any suggestions.

are you sure they are USP mags and not Mark 23 mags? They look almost the same and the Mark 23 mags will feed ammo reliably into the USP .45. I know someone who ordered USP mags and got Mk 23 mags instead, so it could happen.

Pietro, my USP Tactical does the same thing, with the mags that came with the gun, so they are USP Tac. mags for sure.
I think it might have something to do with the fit of the slide lock pin in the hole in the frame. If it is a little tight, the spring pushing on the follower doesn't have enough gumption, or it might be the springs, or maybe the follower, who knows, probably a combination of everything.
I haven't found a solution yet. A little dissapointing coming from a $1400 gun and $60-$70 mags.

Ahab.

if that really is the case... you should send your guns back... that's unacceptable....

having said that, i've seen interesting issues where i have no problems /w my USP and the last round holding back, but when another cgn'er shot my gun and a baby eagle neither of which would hold the slide back after the last round. I think it may have something to do /w some kind of limp wristing... get someone else to give your guns a spin for a mag of ammo

good luck
