I already have a glock in 9mm, and a colt in .45. Now I'm kind of looking at an USP, but I'm finding it hard to settle on calibre. What say you USP owners?

Sadly I don't have the usp...but happily I do have the hk45.... It's new to me, only shot 50 rounds so far......but daaaaammmmm...it's a shooter...personally, I love this in 45... It's a caliber it deserves (gonna get flamed for that)..the usp has to be the same....I know...you can shoot more 9mm...but hey....jmho....lol

Ive got the USP in 9 and 45. As well as the HK 45. And I love the 9mm the most. I know I know. Purists will say 45 is the way to go... and it might be, but when whole punching, it really doesn't matter, and its that much cheaper/easier to control.

Having said that, the .45 isn't unwieldly either. Both are great shooters and must be shot back to back if possible to base your own opinion.

Don't get me wrong, I like both calibres as well. The .45 gives you an distinctive and pleasant kind of whomp. The 9mm, on the other hand, shoots clean and easy. ("Forum for the eternal conflict between the 9 and the 45") I suppose I'm just kind of wondering if the USP platform lends itself to one calibre more than another.

Three if you count the .40. I've never had a plastic gun in .45. I expect the mass of my 1911 goes along way to softening recoil of the .45. What's the recoil like on the USP .45 - in comparison to my 1911?

Ya might notice a smidge more 'snap' or muzzle flip...and it's too close to really notice unless you shoot them side by side. I was going to sell mine to finance a mid-level 1911 ... but I can't stand to part with the HK. I've heard some of the cool kids here on the forum say they have terrible triggers (not true) and say that after sales support is non-existent...but I've never had any problems with mine so I wouldn't know about that. I have the USP .45 Tactical with the adjustable sights and just love it. You will too.

I have a usp tactical in .40. It is by far the most pleasing gun that I have. (Colt combat commander, Kimber, mk25 sig included)

Bug+*r...now I'm going to have to look for a usp in .40...I seem to be amongst the few who really like this caliber...

I had a USP45. I love the gun actually. Sold it.

If I got a USP again it would be a 9mm. The first reason is:
I can shoot more for less money.

AND the most important reason is:
During the zombie apocalypse, zombie brains get destroyed just as well with a 9 and they do with a 45.
