HK USP and USP Compact mags

Compact mag would be shorter so wouldn't reach in a F/S USP pistol, assuming because it has a lower round capacity. The full size mag might fit in the Compact USP, but would hang out a little. Just guessing here, as I haven't seen both mags together.

If anyone has both pistols, this would be the time to chime in...

Same here, that's why I opened this tread to find out. I am referring more to standard mags to USP Compact

well like Glocks, you can get an attachment that fills that space. Anyways, question is not about beauty but compatability :) Like HK Mark 23 and USP compatable but there is a need to change floorplate in USP mags

NO

Here's your answer:

"I have had both a full size and compact 40 USP. They don't interchange because HK designed them as stand alone weapons purpose built to be either full size or compact unlike Glock or some others which will accept the larger weapon's magazines. The angle of the magazine if you compare is also more radical in the compact than full size pistols. Personally, I like my USP40C better because of this fact, it seems like a perfect carry weapon, I only switched to another maker's compact 40 because of department influence."

I have both pitols in question, and the answer is "NO". The full size mags are larger than the compact mags. Each mag is dedicated for its intended frame, be it full size or compact.

It would be nice if they were compatible, though...

I cannot take the credit. As much as I like this site HKPro is a must for HK shooters. I scammed the table from an old post there. It gets posted a lot due to the frequency of mag compatability questions.

Don't sweat it, man. I kinda' figured that it was from there, since I did recognize the other member's name...

The fact that you posted it to share with us on our forum is good by me...credit well deserved. ;)

Fantastic guns, who cares if they're not compatible. Do the USP 40cal mags with 13rds of 9mm operate properly in a USP 9? Anyone know? I have the Sig 226 and 14rds of 9mm/40:357sig mag works perfectly in mine.

Anyone try it?
