Hello fellow nutters,

I just did a search to try and compare these two models differences besides the obvious threaded barrel vs non threaded.

I only came up with one thread which was just pictures and of a ct not a tactical. I did set the search to 36 months and newer.

So I am wondering what would the advantages of the tactical model be over the straight usp model? If any?
Obviously in the states an advantage would be the use of a supressor. But thats not the case here in Canada.

Thanks for the help. I am looking at getting a .40 cal model.
 
USP Tactical comes with a match trigger with an adjustable over travel stop, comes with the extended mag bases and adjustable target sights. And like what was already said...longer barrel threaded and capped.

Source...I own both a HK USP Tactical in .45Auto and an HK45 :)

IMO get the Tactical model if you can afford it, the traget trigger is great and adjustable sights are also a nice treat...you can turn a stock USP into a Tactical clone but it will be never be one, as it does not say so on the slide :p. The Tactical model will hold its value a bit better too :)
 
USP 40 is smaller than the USP 45 by the way... dimensions are different in every model sub-set. Mark 23 is a totally different gun, with 2x the price tag. As big as a Desert Eagle, saw them side by side in Detroit. Only for X-Large hands.

Been there, done that...I can honestly say its worth the wait to just save a little longer and buy the Tactical model OR shop the EE. The good thing is with guns 9/10 of people baby them..especially with the more expensive guns like HKs or 1911s and you can find most guns that are are 98% condition or better for a few hundred off new price, tax free :)
 
Most guys on the EE don't sell for any discount, might save taxes only, so I prefer to buy new myself.

I also find, to save for what "You really want" as you will probably upgrade later, costing you more money in taxes and resale value...

If you really want the HK45 or Mark 23, save and buy it (if you can locate it) then you won't have the urge to upgrade. Speaking from experience.

Going from $1000 to $1400 isn't that big of a difference... save a few bucks and go for what you really want.

I was quoted $999 for a USP 9,40 or 45 full size. They are not that expensive. The HK45 is $1399 (but can't find them) and the MK23 is ^. I purchased a HK USP 40 in the winter, just love it. I can't imagine how much better the other 2 premium pistols are...
 
Some people seem to wait for a sucker to come along or think their $15 houge grip can increase their guns price 10%. Its like that with everything...not everyone can price their used items.

I personally bought my MINT HK USP Tactical .45Auto with 5 mags, aftermarket night sights, aluminum 1913 rail adapter , threaded cap and all the stuff it comes with stock (case, oringal adjustable sights, manual, extra o-rings, ect) for $1400 shipped.

Deals ARE out there...just gotta find em!!! :p

The USP45 Tactical has these features over the USP45:

Threaded barrel w/ O-ring
Adjustable sights
Loaded chamber indicator
Match trigger w/ adjustable over-travel screw
Match hammer
Extended magazine base plates
**Slightly longer recoild guide rod** I have no clue why, but I put the two side-by-side, and the USP45 Tactical's is longer than the USP45's...???

Other than that, everything's pretty much the same. If you had to choose just one, I'd go with the USP45. You'll save about $400, and have pretty much the same gun.

But, if you're looking for one of the best tactical pistols out there, I'd look no further than the USP45 Tactical. I know that it's just my opinion, but how can you look at this and not like it?

Again, my opinion is just that...my opinion. Not everyone will agree with me, and that's perfectly fine. I love my Tactical, and it is an absolute joy to shoot.

Personally I like the cleaner look, don't like threaded barrels hanging out there. If I was looking for a 45, would go with the USP45. Actually a match trigger and hammer may be worth the added expenditure depending on how much...

I have a German made Sig 220 on the way, so I'm in "saving mode". I already have the USP 40, so don't see the use of buying almost the same gun...

If you want the best "tactical" pistol you get an HK45!!! :)
 
One thing I don't like about my USP is the grip. It's so rough, almost like sand paper. Wants to cut you. A nicer, rubberized grip would make more sense to me.

You can try the Hogue handall...I had one on my USP40, and it worked very well. It doesn't really increase the size of the grip too much, and it adds that extra bit of comfort...
