HK USP vs HK USP Tactical

I haven't had the opprtunity of trying one out yet...I hope to soon. But until I have another HK to compare my Tactical to, I'm "sticking to my guns"...

I have both...love em both and who doesn't want more then one HK?!?!? LOL But if I had to pick ONE, it'd be the HK45 without a doubt

I own a HK USP .45, a Mark 23 and a little P7M8. Up until a few months ago I also owned a HK45, for about a year.

I have to admit, my favourite .45 to shoot is the Mk23. I also like to shoot the USP as it is more compact, but the Mk23 really does tame the cartridge more and it is very accurate. It's a treat to shoot, you would not think you are shooting a .45.

The reason I sold my HK45 was that it did not feel, or fit my hand the same way my USP and Mk23 do! Before I bought the HK45, when I picked it up at the gun store it felt great, but for some reason when I shot the guns side by side, the HK45 felt a bit odd to me. Or maybe I'm just odd.
Don't get me wrong, it's a great gun, but I prefer the way a more box like, square grip fits my hands. Which most of my pistols have.

Anyway, I am now looking for a 9mm HK. I don't want to go with the P30, as it has the same curved/sculpted fit and feel as the larger HK45.
So I am now considering either a USP 9mm, or a USP Tactical 9. Basically I am in the same boat as the OP now!

I was at Al Simmons in Hamilton earlier this week and they had a USP Tactical in 9. It fits my hands very well, a bit better than my USP .45, as the 9mm is slightly smaller.
They have it listed at $1499.00, I think the USP was listed at $1099.00. For the extra $400.00 you get a match trigger, adjustable sights and a slightly longer barrel. I am really tempted!!

I share the same thoughts as others that have posted. If you really like the Tactical, wait a bit, save a bit and buy the gun you really want. Also, I would suspect making a 'clone' Tac out of a USP would cost as much, or more than a Tac. Plus finding HK parts is very tough, and they sell for top dollar.

OH, if anyone is serious about getting a HK45, they are not as rare to find as you think.........................they had one sitting there listed at $1399.00! It's funny, I bought my HK45 there over a year ago.

I was quoted $1000 & 1400 respectively... When I was looking. Shop around.cou:

The USP's and P30's are plentiful, a good deal can be had if you look.

The USP45 Tactical has these features over the USP45:

Threaded barrel w/ O-ring
Adjustable sights
Loaded chamber indicator
Match trigger w/ adjustable over-travel screw
Match hammer
Extended magazine base plates
**Slightly longer recoild guide rod** I have no clue why, but I put the two side-by-side, and the USP45 Tactical's is longer than the USP45's...???

Other than that, everything's pretty much the same. If you had to choose just one, I'd go with the USP45. You'll save about $400, and have pretty much the same gun.

But, if you're looking for one of the best tactical pistols out there, I'd look no further than the USP45 Tactical. I know that it's just my opinion, but how can you look at this and not like it?

Again, my opinion is just that...my opinion. Not everyone will agree with me, and that's perfectly fine. I love my Tactical, and it is an absolute joy to shoot.

Good luck...
Strider, that is an beautiful blaster. What kind of holster it that riding in?

One thing I don't like about my USP is the grip. It's so rough, almost like sand paper. Wants to cut you. A nicer, rubberized grip would make more sense to me.
Having Man hands would make more sense to me.:D

No holster yet...I've been debating on picking up a Raven, but I'm not sure if they have one suited for the current set-up. To be honest, I haven't really looked into it much...in any case, I know that I'll get the itch soon, and when I do, I'll find out for sure. They can custom make one, anyway, so I don't think that it'll be a problem...

Thanks. Very thorough. I was just thinking of picking up a usp 40 whichever model. I already own an hk45 and love it and will pick up an hkp30l v3 at some point soon.

Just trying to sell my 1911 and g22 first which I didn't think I overpriced. I try not to. Always open to offers tho just not low ballers.

So...anyone got a tactical 40 or p30l they wanna trade plus cash? Haha. Sucks having to regulate spending and number of firearms when you are newly married and going to build a house :-(
