Been checking collector sites , both from Canada and the US , been looking for an HK vp70 and wanted to know if they are still available , and what was the price someone last saw . Looking to possibly aquire one for my collection and seeing as their rare i figured it might be a good idea to ask here first.

They also have historical significance for me as well .

I asked about this a while back. Less than 100 VP70z in Canada. I think someone said 73 total. That is all the info that came up. Your best bet would be to find one in the US and have it imported. It'll be expensive though as you'll pay a few hundred over what the gun already cost. Hope this helps.

I had a VP70Z about 15 years ago. Hated it. Like many HK pistols designed as service firearms, it was not user friendly. The trigger pull was about 15lbs IIRC. It was absolutely atrocious. I'm glad I sold it.

Off topic, but

I believe "Aliens" featured them as well.

When I found out about the ridiculous trigger pull my search for one was over.

You're correct about Aliens. (I didn't remember that.)

Do you remember this?

I remember a pretty heavy trigger, and I also remember that you really didn't want to get hit by one of those discs either.

Yes, I believe you're right.. the grimace that the actors wore as they fired the gun wasn't some reaction to their soon-to-be-violent death, but because of the awful trigger. Even non-shooters know its just wrong.

If you're still interested, I am early in the process of inheriting one and will probably sell it (after putting a box of 9 through it :)
My finger needs the exersize anyway.

look for it in September
