HK416 (ish) project... a love story ;-)

Have any of you MR owners tried the GriffinArms QD BLast shield?

I bought one but for whatever reason it doesn't seem to fit over my HK flash hider.

Thinking of sending it back, but I'm not ruling out trying a different hider (from my LMT for example)

update - really happy with the Shield optic. No washout issues at all; the dots were more than adequately bright shooting from a covered bench into a bright, sunny range a few weeks ago. Swapped out the 5-prong brake for an AAC Blackout, and with that I think the MR is finished. Accuracy was pretty decent too - easy minute-of-clay-pigeon at 50 yards standing unsupported with Norinco ammo.

So here's my contribution, finally got around to Cerakoting the barrel, GB & barrel nut. I should have it up and running in a few weeks.

I figured it was, but thought I'd ask if they were able to actually get it, or if it was a "close enough" deal. I know most people say its "pea soup" "baby poop" or "vomit" coloured, but I dig it. Of course I also recently bought a .357 SIG and I'm waiting on a .277 Wolverine barrel, so I'm in the minority most of the time, lol. Did you do the whole gun in that colour?
 
Here is the lower with a "burnt bronze" mag in it for comparison.
Its one of those colors that doesn't "photograph" well, it's more a greenish brown/sand when you have it in hand.

Very cool. Would you be willing to walk us (specifically me) through what went into the build of your upper? Or did you throw down for a complete unit?
 
Well not much to tell, I started with a Titan "clone" upper, pretty much the exact same as a HK, but I wanted something more (German), so I spent the last couple of yrs sourcing the parts.

Very cool. I may have been looking at those uppers earlier tonight on hk parts, lol.
 
Good to hear, it's a very good "clone" IMO. If you have an imgur account it's pretty straight forward, it must be? cause I can do it, LOL
