HK416 LAV Feedback Update

Sorry lets try some penetrating oil and let the upper sit out in the humidity, make sure the upper sits with the bolt head down - I near had issue with my upper so keep us posted:cheers:

Alright, I'll give that a try. Mine already has the "X" marked screw for removal. I am somewhat hesitant to use the bolt head as a leverage tool, as it is a $200.00 part, and ya know... necessary for the firearm to function.

It will work fine, if you live in Ontario I have the HK tool and can get that loosened for you easily. It's just tight, probably been on there a while.

OK so I used some penetrating oil on the screw and let it sit. I was somewhat hesitant to use the bolt head, but with minimal force it worked great to loosen it up. It is all really tight as I am sure it was the first time it has ever been stripped in a great deal of time.
I am accustom to the C7 service rifle with all the parts loose and able to disassemble so quickly. I was afraid of roughing up this beauty.
Cleaning was a breeze with the HK. A wipe in the lower receiver and a light coat of oil was all that was necessary in there. Upper was quick where the bolt assembly goes, and the bolt assembly was a breeze as well. Gas piston block is a bit tricky to get into, but the Otis cleaning kit for all NATO calibers (minus the .50) came in real handy. The piston was easy to clean up as well.
Can anyone let me know if there is anything I should look out for with regards to this rifle in maintenance and cleaning?
Also is there any dealers in Canada that I can order parts online? I would like to throw a flash suppressor on her.

Beautiful guns, why do they have to cost so much.

Even though I'm sure you know the answer to that already, all answer that for the community with some reason I have been told and come up with.

1. RNicholls
2. Euro Currency/Importation from Europe.
3. Best/most expensive Materials
4. Best equipment for making their products.
5. Best reputation on the market for extreme use & reliability largely unmatched.
6. HK set a new standard for AR/type rifle that every company tries to emulate.
7. It has been used on several famous missions.
8. Larry Vickers himself to name just one person of obvious stature was involved in the development of the rifle and it's variants.
9. It is the gun that was used to kill Osama Bin Laden.

it was expensive before they killed bin laden, now probably a little more. saying owned is for tweens.
