HK416/MR223 Info Thread

that's cool, would you trade an 14.5 in for an 11 in upper if you had the chance ? btw, is it 11in or actually a 10.4 in and everybody just call them 11 in barrels ?
just saw your picture....that's an actual 416 lower ?

No trades, the 416 has the 10.4" barrel and the MR223 has an 11"
Not a real 416, that would be "prohib" just a good clone. The upper is a real 416A5 though.

Here's the 10.4"

Here is the new Geissele "HK 416 Extended Rail" that I sourced on sale through Arms East. The fit and finish are typical Geissele perfection. Rail Estate consists of the full-length Picatinny Rail on top and 3 short Rail Sections that can be positioned IAW user preference. The colour is yet another different shade of Tan/Brown to help break up the carbine's profile.

They are not. Use a metric wrench and they come off easily.

I dunno about that "easily" part GT! The FH on the muzzle of my 14.5" barrel is awfully tight!! Makes me wonder if there is Loctite in use ànd/or if some applied heat would help? Seriously, I've eaten my Wheaties and still no joy.....

Edited to Add: Feeling like a wimp, I redoubled my efforts and was rewarded with success. That was more than 25 ft lbs, though. At least that's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

The ones I have done, both 223 and 308, came off easily. My estimate is that they are no more than 25 ft-lb. I clamped down the barrels using an aluminium barrel vice block and a 17mm wrench. No special magic.

Almost bought one of those MR223 A3 11” RA carbines that just came in. So tempting, I had my credit card out a few times. I really do want one.

Unfortunately at $3200-3400 plus tax along with upgrading the handguard it was a tough sell. Plus with the Liberals “studying” a handgun/semi auto ban ie prohibited it was just too much to risk. The recent opinion pieces fit right in with the latest scandal showing the decision was made a long time ago and they are just prepping the public with paid for media. I really have zero faith in the Canadian voters to not vote them in again. We even have some deranged on here talking about splitting the vote with Bernier and allowing another Liberal government. If that happens then we will be discussing bolt action rifles and single/double shotguns maybe pump action. If they were under 2K then I would have taken the risk. Just too rich and risky at this point in time. Which kills me because I do want one.

At this time I guess I’m living vicariously. Hopefully enough firearm owners see the light and vote Conservative along with the general public finally seeing the Liberals as the scum bags they are!

I am on the verge of buying one of those 11 inch H&K ( when i am back from NH) to add to the numbers of restricteds in support against a BAN.

I was looking at my LGS in Concord NH and they dont sell that model in the states
