Quick Question. Does anyone know what the status of the HK 416 is in Canada? Also, if it is restricted, anyone know where I can pick one up and what they go for?

Buy a H&K MR223A it is as close that we are able to get to a HK 416 out there .The German government has requires and end user certifacte and restricts sales to Law Enforcement, Government Agencies only there are some exceptions I believe that some LEA and Government sales dealers have samples these are not permitted to be sold under any circumstances to the public.

You might also want to look into the Titan Defence TD-415... it's a clone upper of the 416 that'll appearently run you about $1300 US. looks really good, just about the same "everything" and it's significantly cheaper than the $3500 US (or so) 416 upper... (the full HK rifle is going to set you back a helluva lot more)
 
There are legit 416 uppers floating around. I know of a few guys who have brought them in. However they are uppers only and probably $3500 to $4500 just for the upper. Pretty rare in Canada though.
