The problem with a stock that short is that it requires a rework of the recoil system. The system is bufferless and took a fair bit of work to get it to operate reliably. Thus it requires the following parts in addition to the stock:
buffer tube
recoil spring
modified bolt carrier
anti-bounce weight
spring retainer collar
spring guide pin
I don't suspect the entire stock assembly with all the parts required to make it function could be had for less than $350 - $400. We haven't priced anything out yet but this is just a gut feeling from the number of parts and what it takes to make those parts. In truth the real cost could be closer to $500 but I don't know yet. I wasn't going to post anything for a while yet as we aren't totally finished with it but the HK gun is just so close to ours I wanted to show that a small CDN company can make cool stuff too.
