Well no kidding, did you patent your design at all?

If HK beat you guys to the punch, they might try and sue for patent infringement, just to warn you.

If you patented the idea before HK got to it, then I'd say you have a pretty good case for patent infringement or something....

I highly doubt the design is patentable. There have been similar basic designs around for years.
 
This type of retractable stock was first used by HK on their G3 series I think.

I'm looking forward buying a stock from you Suputin :)

The problem with a stock that short is that it requires a rework of the recoil system. The system is bufferless and took a fair bit of work to get it to operate reliably. Thus it requires the following parts in addition to the stock:

buffer tube
recoil spring
modified bolt carrier
anti-bounce weight
spring retainer collar
spring guide pin

I don't suspect the entire stock assembly with all the parts required to make it function could be had for less than $350 - $400. We haven't priced anything out yet but this is just a gut feeling from the number of parts and what it takes to make those parts. In truth the real cost could be closer to $500 but I don't know yet. I wasn't going to post anything for a while yet as we aren't totally finished with it but the HK gun is just so close to ours I wanted to show that a small CDN company can make cool stuff too. :)
 
That hk is a ###y beast no doubt but I wonder what the velocity is like with these micro-barrels...


anyone chrony a 6-10" barrel?

I don't need ALL the parts. I just need the Stock and tube to put on a HERA USC/AR stock conversion. :evil:

Actually, I didn't think the recoil was that bad - all things considered. NEA is manufacturing a similar stock that I'm pretty stoked about, so considering the 9.0" HK416c will be next-to-unobtanium it should be perfect for my 7" PDW.
 
These little stocks take a bit of getting used to. I'm not sure how he had his face so far back. I find the stock to be very short and generally end up with my nose at the back end of the receiver.

There is something very appealing about such a compact package. I have a Dewalt sazall case that I carry mine around in. People are just astounded that I have a complete functional AR carbine in such a small case. :)
