HK45 is here!

That's like saying:

Hyundai Accent Hatchback: metal bodyunit, plastic bumper covers $13,500
BMW M6: metal bodyunit, plastic bumper covers $130,000

If you think that the cost of raw materials is responsible for anything more than a miniscule portion of the price of the final manufactured product, you need to realize that it's not the 1800's anymore.

If you think there is that big of a difference between Glock and HK you gotta give your head a shake. A Glock 21 will do EVERYTHING an HK 45 will do at way less then half the price. WAY more aftermarket parts/accessories and gun that has LONG PROVEN track record.

Depends on how you look at it. Hyundai Accent will do everything a BMW M6 will do, if all you need is to get from point A to point B.

HK45 is more accurate than Glock 21, has better fit and finish, MUCH better ergonomics, not to mention a fully supported chamber. HK also beat Glock to the polymer pistol game by about two decades, so they have an even LONGER proven record.

LOL Whatever. To each his own. Better finish then Tenifer I doubt it. Nothing wrong with the fit if your hands are small there is the SF versions. The G-21 is every bit as accurate as a HK45 and what would it matter maybe bench rested the HK45 MIGHT and I say MIGHT have a slight edge but who the #### cares it is a COMBAT pistol not a TARGET pistol. Who gives a #### about a fully supported Chamber. I have owned just about every caliber Glock and have fired 10's of thousands of rounds from crappy reloads to plus p and NEVER any issues. Sure you can find some website that shows Glock Kaboom pics of some IDIOT who does not have the first clue on how to reload or got a bad batch of factory ammo....so what. If HK's first polymer pistol was such a success why is it's first design LONG gone?

Hey, no need to get so excited. Like you said, to each his own. If you like guns with sloppy slide to frame fit (with gaps wide enough to see the recoil spring inside), poorly supported chamber, plastic sights, and "combat accuracy", no one's stopping you. I'm just trying to explain why some people are willing to pay a little more for a better quality pistol. At $860 (which is what the gun sells for in the U.S.), HK45 is well worth the money IMO. But I agree that the Canadian price is ridiculous.

If HK's first polymer pistol was such a success why is it's first design LONG gone?
Probably for the same reason Model T is long gone. It's been a replaced with an updated model.

I don't even think it is all that pricey. Lots of pistols cost $1600 plus. Having owned a lot of HKs, I honestly believe you get what you pay for.

I think this gun looks pretty cool and want to grab one as my 45 user. I'm still planning on getting it, just for a reasonable price.

I recently spent 2k on a P7M8, so even though $1600 seems like alot, there's plenty of guns of equal quality in that range. And I definitely believe in you get what you pay for.

Way better aesthetics than the USP, IMO. I personally think the USP is hands-down the ugliest popular centrefire pistol in existence. I'd be able to own an HK45 without feeling ashamed at how hideous it is!

But, if a person is going to shell out $1600 for a HK45, then they might as well pony up another few hundred and just get a Mark 23.

My thoughts exactly...

Not that I particularly like the ergonomics of the Mark 23 but rather at the given price of the HK45, I'd get the Mark23 just because......

I would love to purchase it from Wolverine to support a good company and man but it looks like R. Nichols is "doing" John and us again.

I would rather spend the money ordering it through Questar even if it ends up costing the same then to put the money into a company (R. Nichols) that has gouged consumers and businesses for years.

Sorry John, if the price was within 10-15% of the US price I would get it from you but not at a 150% increase.

Holy s**t. Id be cheaper to buy one from the USA and have questar import them

(by 2 or 3 hundred dollars depending on where you got it)

Go figure....

Not bashing Wolverine supplies in any way, they are a great company! R Nicholls is to blame for this one

I'm hoping that the price point for the p30 L will be more forgiving. I would love to get my mitts on one of those just to compare the ergonomics but for that price I think I can wait.

I doubt at that price. I was actually looking foreward to an HK45...

Mabey once the "ooooh, they're new!" hype ends they'll come down in price.

Either that or get an HK45 from the states and import it (as siad before). I hear they are awesome pistols, but you can get a USP Tac for about that much cash...

I had a chance to get a grip on one of Wolverine's HK45's at the Calgary Gun Show. It does feel fantastic, and is totally solid. My wife would have killed me if I had cashed out for it, but it's still on my list, along with the P30L.

I'm waiting on the P30L. The P2000 is a nice pistol, but I still prefer my USP: I'm anxious to see if the former will be a USP killer. :D
