So having owned a P2000 in south america for 10 or so months while I was down there, I grew pretty fond of it. It was a .40s&w only put about 3 1/2 boxes through it but it was fun going to the range with my boss and a couple Ex-police officers for some exercises and "war" stories.... like the explanation of how he lost his hand to a helicopter

Anyhow I liked how how I could change the back of the grip to suit my not so manly hands. While I was down there the p30 came out and instantly wanted one then I saw the HK45. Both have the interchangeable grips. I've allways wanted a 1911 though. Mainly for all the parts out there to make it my own.

The HK's as far as I can tell don't really have much as far as custom parts ect. I don't mean tacticool stuff but just in general except I found some barrels.

Another thing to note is I don't know if I want something as large as a .45 and if I was to get the p30L I'd get it in a .40

Taking my restricted course beginning of Jan and expecting a real nice tax return (no I can't buy all 3 I need an AR and bribes to the wife too ;) ) So doing a bit of arm chair work before I dive in.

TL;DR
Of the 3 what to get and If anyone here has owned at least 2 of the 3 can you give me a quick comparison?

You have to own a 1911, so you might as well start there....
You will torture yourself with all of the options available.
I would start with a middle of the road unit....STI, Kimber, Springfield Armory...jump in, get your feet wet, and then decide if you like it stock, or with any, or all, of the options available.
I've owned, but no longer have, an HK45.
Could never get a grip combo, with it's various panels, that really agreed with me.
It fed everything you threw at it, was accurate and reliable, but never really did anything better for me than my Glock 21.
I just traded my HK 30L with LEM trigger...again accurate, reliable, but I didn't get along with the grip. In the end, I preferred my Glock 34.
I should let you know that part of the trade was for a Nighthawk Talon II in 9MM.
I had a hankering for a high end 1911, and nothing fits my hand better, and there is nothing like a good 1911 single action trigger for pure, shooting pleasure.
My other two current favourites are my SIG 220 (45ACP) and my SIG X-5 Tactical (9MM), both with the excellent SIG SAO (single action only) trigger system.

I have owned many 1911's, and a few HK's.

Now I have a Kimber Warrior and an HK45... best of both worlds!!! The HK45 is really similar to the 1911 in controls and grip angle, but I think it's much more comfortable than a 1911 (for me, anyway).

Go .45 if you reload - something else (9mm!) if you don't. I can reload .45 JHP forabout $200/1000 or less if I do lead. Brass never wears out (okay, a looong time) and only 4.5 gr. powder.

I noticed Larry Vickers carrying an HK45C at a training course (I saw the article in a magazine). He helped develop the HK45 which spawned the p30/p30-L. He is/was a 1911 guy.

I like my P2000 but was not a fan of the grip on the P30L or HK45... instead I still have my USP. Try them and when you find one that you like, keep it!
