I know a lot of people are after this gun...I have one, LOVE it and recommended it to anyone who likes 1911s and/or HK USPs.

$1399.99 @ Epps, good luck!!!

:)

Good luck with trying to find the parts or service.
While I believe that they make excellent firearms I cannot ignore two, simple, yet profound facts:
- H&K is well known for their strange "anti-civilian-gun ownership" BS policy that translates into terrible customer service,
- steep and IMO overblown pricing comparing to any other gun of comparable class.
Those pistols are also not extraordinary ;) in the trigger department.
Good to see that we have a choice (thanks EPPS) though.

Its a "combat" pistol...it doesn't need a Smith and Wesson wheel gun trigger...

Support...well I do not hear much about them breaking down, ever...but if you do order direct from the USA. That can be said about any gun/parts in Canada.

Half of CGN thinks that if they do not get a signed in blood Christmas letter by the manufacturer thanking them for buying their pistol they are ####. Welcome to the real world. If a gun company, such as HK deals with mostly military and law enforcement understandably their main concern is them...where the larger portion of their money is coming from. I for one and happy that we can own them at least.

So are the Glocks, Sig-Sauers, Walthers and many others.
Most of those pistols are offering the same level of reliability with better trigger and customer service than H&K does...and for much less money.
No need to display all the symptoms of the serious butthurt here.
I said that I'm glad that we have such choice.

I have had said other pistols and found them lesser then the HKs...glocks triggers among the worst...mussy as all hell and feels like ####. Sig, for me...wins out having the best trigger tho. I have a Sig, a German made Swiss Military P220 in 9mm ...but mostly for collectors sake, Swiss Cross on it...euro heel safety.

I fired many handguns in my life including two H&Ks.
I'm not finding myself into either - "love" or "hate" Heckler and Koch club.
IMO those guns are nothing special in comparison with the other, high quality pistols.
They will probably last longer though as the materials used to build them are suppose to be top notch.
Solid guns, exactly like many, other pistols out there.
Glock will last a lifetime as well with much better market and aftermarket support.
Just to be clear - I don't own any Glock pistols.
At the end of the day, if money is no object, Heckler and Koch is just another way to go.
However it's good to know that H&K can't market free ###.
No matter how good their products are, their customer service and after sale support sucks.
Strange thing, considering the unusually high price tag on any of their firearms.

So, talking worse case scenario here, how long have guys waited for HK parts? Waiting for parts doesn't bother me but not ever getting them does.

I have read in a few posts on this site that extra mags are just about impossible to get. I have no personal experience to offer on this.

Yup.
H&K 45 - $1080
Sure sounds better, but the border tax, shipping and import fees may destroy the nice, initial impression.
Quite interesting however :)

Yeah, I probably would not bother so much with the gun that way - thinking more of the mags, as they seem to have a number of those in stock.

Order them directly but legally from the USA...I have 3 but plan to order another 3. No worry about cap. as they are only 10 rounders.

Good luck gents. Oh and i have 8 mags thanks to one hell of a good man on cgn here. So not impossible to get.
You will not regret purchasing an Hk45. Imho the nicest easiest shooting handgun i own. And i own quite a few. For comparison's sake. They built it as the next evolution of the 1911. Just damn expensive to shoot is all.

I dont think you will need to worry about spare parts. If HKs were unreliable and broke all the time no one would want them or pay a premium. Of all the handguns i have owned i only ever had a glock and a 1911 fail.

I currently own 6 hk's and they have all been flawless and all shoot much much much straighter than i do.
