HK45...want one? Epps has 5!!!

This is for the German manuf. HK's. The HK45 is now made in the USA... QC is okay but still way behind HK GmbH manuf. firearms... I dont believe that HK USA will ever be able to match that kind of refinement...

Proof of this? Or is it just another assumption? HK would NOT let America make/sell anything that was sub par and tarnish their established product line.

Again, I said that QC is okay, but not on par with what is manuf. in Germany. This is less problematic than the Sig USA/Sig Germany issues but still. Just read post #80... Do you really think that HK USA have all the ressources to be on par with what is manuf from HK GmbH?? Seriously?

Even though both German and US made HK45 are reportedly on par quality wise (from HKpro). If given the choice, I would definatly buy the German manuf. HK. Why? simply because I prefer those german proof marks. To me, HK GmbH manuf firearms will always bring a premium over the ones made in the US. JMHO

I have to agree with you since I was made in Germany. Lol.

I posted this a while ago, but can't seem to find it now!

A couple of years ago I chatted with a H&K US military rep. on a flight out of Atlanta.

I told him I owned four H&K products including a HK45. I said I had looked for a German made HK45 but when the chance came to up to buy a US made gun, I bought it.

He laughed and then informed me that ALL of the major components for the H&K HK45 are still being made in Germany under German QA!

He added that only the equipment to assembly the pistols was shipped to the US plant and that only a few small parts that are made in the US are used.
The guns are only assembled in the US, under a visiting German H&K QA representative team.

He laughed again as he said that H&K did not want to make the same mistake that certain other German companies are encountering with manufacturing guns in the US!

He said the ony US made HK they were entertaining a the time was a HK416, that they were considering having Daniel Defense produce for them!

He concluded that no H&K guns are manufactured in the US.

As we parted he gave me a H&K ball cap and pen and said I "should wear the hat the next time I go to the range".

In conclusion, don't have any concerns when buying a US HK45, they are manufactured in German and put together in the US.

EDIT - Found it!

The hat is now well 'proudly worn', the pen is on the 'low end', but still kind of cool.

So just got it hand delivered today... and yeah... /me loving it.

Can't wait to go to the range now and do a side by side USP/HK45 comparison.

:D

TY Epps

Very nice :)

I also have a USP Tactical .45....I still like it but it doesn't hold a candle to my HK45 :p That is why my buddy is gonna buy it off me once his RPAL comes in.
