HK45c vs HK USP 45c

The USP compact tactical and the USP compact are virtually the same gun, only difference is the threaded o-ring barrel and "optional" raised sights. All compact tactical's up until this year have "compact" written on the side, where this year they have started to have "CT" markings. Still virtually the same gun minus the different marking.

HK's site hasn't been updated so it still has pictures with the plain "compact" markings on the CT model.

The HK45 was developed primarily for the American market so HK GmBH sent all of the HK45 tooling to HK USA. HK USA is forbidden from exporting parts by it's parent company. The few that made it over here are either smuggled, imported individually, or got in before the tooling was sent to the US.

Ouch

Overpriced

"H&K, Because you suck and we hate you"

Have to pay for the good stuff, one of the best pistols out there and nobody seems to prove otherwise.

This guy:

"Over the years I've owned or shot many types of .45ACP pistols. I have always liked the 1911 platform and for years trusted my life with a Colt, Series 70, 1911. I have always carried a Colt Commander as an off duty or concealed carry weapon. My last police job had me carrying an H&K USP .45 ACP. Absolutely the best "out of the box" handgun I ever used. The only duty gun I've ever qualified with that got me a 100% score without having been "tuned up". The gun fit me like a glove and was absolutely reliable. If I was starting my law enforcement career again, I would opt for this gun in a heartbeat.

The H&K is a bit large for a concealed carry gun, so I continued to pack my Colt Commander. Two years ago I retired this 35 year old gun - just wore out. I replaced it with a Kimber Pro Raptor II. I've run about 5,000 rounds through it so far in break in, practice, and competition shooting. No jams in that time, not a one. At longer ranges, i.e., 35 and 50 yards, my Colt Gold Cup will shoot a bit tighter group than the Kimber; I guess the extra inch of barrel on the Gold Cup helps. The Kimber does not take a back seat to any gun I have plus it is just a cool looking gun!

If forced to chose between the full sized H&K USP and the Kimber Pro Raptor II. . ., I'd probably go with the Kimber. I don't carry a duty gun anymore (retired), but do pack a concealed gun."

Or "0". You take your pick.

What exactly does a zero trader rating have to do with anything? Not taking sides but seriously. Maybe he phones stores and buys more money worth of arms and ammo than you make in a year? Maybe he doesn't take the time to post on trader ratings?

Maybe you are right?

But a zero trader rating is a childish point to make.

How about someone (not me) starts a group buy on the HK45CT through Prophet River? Get those import fees down...I'd be in for one.

I'd get in on that! I just picked up a new 45USP fullsize yesterday from my local dealer and took her to the range on the way home.

Shot a solid 3" wide ragged hole with 2 boxes of Blazer 230gr FMJ at 25yds.....I'm totally sold on these funky, chunky pistols that have less recoil than my Browning Hi-Power! A complete pleasure to shoot (although may have to change out the front sight since I was shooting consistently low) with no issues in the 100 rds I put down the pipe.

If some wants to go in on this group buy maybe we can get a deal on the import. The group buy is On till oct 1. I also worked out the threaded barrel which the guy is going to cover at no cost. I will talk to Clay tomorrow and see what kind of deal he will work on say a 50 order of 45ct's.

If they where $1250+ tax would u be interested?

For a Full Size HK45, I would be... don't want a compact. Are you sure this is a Canadian group buy?

You just discovered HK's fantastic 'recoil reduction system'.

It is a US group buy but they are willing to add the threaded barrel. In the cost that kills the deal is the $250 import fee. If we get a bunch of people this price could be brought down.

Thanks T

I think it might be easier to find a dealer that is willing to take on a group buy order and forgo the usual mark up. Maybe sell to us a little closer to wholesale instead of retail.

Hi Everyone,

After calling around a hard decision just got harder. Looking for some opinions on what you would do? Keep in mind this is Canada and we get hosed on the prices.

1) HK USP 45ct with LEM - $1250
2) HK45c with threaded barrel - $1299
3) HK USP 45c with threaded barrel - $1100

Thanks T

LEM = eww!!!

Learn how to shoot... the only shot that is in DA is the first one. And that is if you do not carry/use it cocked and locked, or you can thumb the hammer, OR you can rack the slide. I do not see how DA for the first shot ONLY is such a big deal to some.
