I see two HKP7's offered in the upcoming Switzer auction. I was interested to see that one (a HK P7M10) was prohibited class while the other (HK P7M13) was restricted. I know the literature that came with mine gave the barrel length as 105mm but it was restricted. I guess many of these must actually measure a few thousandths over the 105?

My M8 was in the 12(6) class. When I was selling it, i got advice from here that there were multiple FRTs on the P7 series. Some were R and some were P. The barrel length measurement is to the breech face. I did a measurement and found mine to be restricted length. Took pics to show it and sent them in myself to the Lab. They changed the classification soon after and I was able to sell the gun as a Restricted.

The P7’s were marketed as having a barrel length of 105mm, so by default they were classified as 12(6). When measured from the breech face as Still Alive described, almost all of the barrels are longer than 105mm. There are three FRT entries as a result, 105mm, 106mm and 107mm barrel lengths. All four of mine measured between 105.4mm and 105.7mm and I had the three 12(6) class pistols re-registered as Restricted. It took about 6 weeks through the RCMP ident lab process. Easy and straightforward.
Well, some lucky 12.6 holder stands to make a bunch of money if they buy that M10 and it measures 105+
Depending on the date code, it may not be factory nickel. I think only the KC versions were H&K factory nickel finish.

I think the CFC 12-6 all these, as in the old days they where just 4 in guns and it did not matter.
The BS C68 came along and it did matter, not many bothered to check, until sites like this started talking about it, and found out most hwre restricted and not 12-6.
Everyone I have had have been 106, most 107 about 5 or 6 over the years.
Smith Wesson 39 9mm are sometimes over the limit as well, check them 3 out of 5 that I have had where just over 105mm= restricted.

It varies but they usually have some pretty good stuff. The problem is that prices are often on the high side and there is a 15% buyers premium plus tax plus shipping. With all of that things can get very pricey very quickly
It's funny because that doesn't seem to stop the Colt collectors! I can't believe what Pythons get on that site when they'll sit for months on the CGN EE for 10-25% less after buyers premium, tax, and shipping.
P7's seem to be in the same boat.
It doesn't seem to stop a lot of buyers....that's why many of the auction results seem so high. I guess it just depends who is bidding that day and how badly they decide they want to "win". Of course, if you go into an auction with the idea it is something to be won you are very liable to end up paying too much.
I see they also have a couple of nib Manurhin MR73's. It should be interesting to see what sort of hammer price they make compared to retail.
Aww man! Somebody's wife now hates the OP. There are easily 20 guns I need, and if I don't get them, I'm going to make sure that the guy who does, gets no new kitchen. What an outstanding collection of prohibs!
The P7M10 is already $1200 with 10 days to go. If this is any indication, the final cost could exceed a decent fridge, stove and dishwasher. And for what? I have owned every one of the P7 series and am down to one "prohib" P7 PSP. Not one of these pistols is even a 10th of a mm off, this is anal German manufacturing at it's finest. Any deviation put the pistol in the scrap pile, these are 105.0 mm barrels, and properly measured to the breech face, all of them are 107mm and restricted. All. There is no such thing as a legitimate prohib in 9mm or .40... the P7 K3 on the other hand, prohib. Making a restricted barrel for it is apparently possible, I'm told these are simple recoil operated guns, with no gas ports. I am also told there were two P7 K3 .380 pistols sold in Germany with suppressor threads, which should be restricted. Two. Off you go, find them at auction before I do!

I have a bunch of book marks in and some low starting bids just for the hell of it, most I will have up my bids, later, mainly small stuff, parts.
I did buy some stuff last auction, missed a couple as I was away at end of sale.
Picked up a couple of nice handguns a cheap prices, There was one, A Hi Standard 107 supermatic with a broken trigger ( rusted) , must have happened when the gun was almost new.
100 % blue, even on the barrel face 200.oo into it, like I need another one. Those 2 Colt pythons will go ski high, I have not checked last few days ( scared to look)
But the real nice stuff I like sells for way more than I can sell it for. But the service is good, but you pay for it

HKp7m13 was sold for $ 3750 plus buyers fee and GST.
So final price is $4800 plus shipping cost.
I was willing to go as high as $4000 myself !!I still think selling it yourself is better because auction houses take too much commission to sell it for you. Usually they take 15% from the seller and 15% from the buyer!

I think at switzers it is 15% buyer's fee and 25% seller.
I was surprised to see that the two NIB Manurhin MR73's (one 6", one 4.25") each went for $2415 plus tax and shipping. Somebody scored a pretty sweet deal as retail is around $3500
They are doing the prohibs near the end in this auction so the P7M10 hadn't sold last time I looked
I also noticed a SA Ltd shoulder stock/holster for an Inglis went for $505 including the buyer's fee.

$3220 for the prohib P7M10 a pair of nickle Pythons (2.5" snake eyes) went for just over $5400 each.....maybe to the US?
