Hi guys,

I was looking at the Sturmgewehr repro and it is on preorder on the HMG website (DEC 1st) for the USA. Do you think it will eventually show up here in canada?

You can see all the information for this rifle from HMG on youtube :

Have fun watching!

Needs an frt. Which means 3 to 4 years in rcmp lab getting classified.

Are you gentlemen aware that RCMP sends delegations to every major gun trade show in US? You know why? To acknowledge themselves with novelties on the market so they could be properly classified if/when they hit our market. I have some unpleasant stories about some Mounties having fun there at our cost, but that is not the point. The point is they spend our tax dollars on business trips that supposed to result in classification in advance, then they spend our tax dollars and our time with 2-3 year lab testing to produce their conclusion. So much for efficiency. I wonder if they could be audited and their performance questioned properly. I bet a group of independent gunsmiths with good law understanding can do their job in a matter of weeks with fraction of RCMP lab budget. Sometimes I have a feeling that some part of RCMP think they are divine entities.

Are these the receivers? The closer one looks like a piece of metal to me. When are the paperweights coming in?

Yes. The first actual gun is being stamped out today, has been test fired with a blank round, and is off to the range. This is how stamped receivers look mid build.

Military Arms Channel is with them now and posting picture updates as it happens on their Facebook page. I assume a video will be coming down the pipe shortly on Youtube and Full30 dot com.

So, basically Im looking at a lower receiver and a 80% lower. now THAT my friend is cool.

You are looking at a "Flat"... the same way AK flats are sold. With an AK flat in the US, once you fold up the sides, you have a receiver. So the "80%" thing doesn't really work with stamped receivers, as you aren't milling away "80%" of the receiver leaving 20% to do at home. You have a flat, or you have a receiver.

So this is a HMG STG44 flat, and a receiver.

Yes, the 80% thing is more of a marketing term in my opinion, and the AK flats are exactly what I had in mind when I saw these. Anyhow, my point is one of these is not a firearm. Thank you. Cheers.

Tthey are already looking to build guns that are compliant with state laws that don't allow the guns they are currently just starting to make.

So what is another set of "state" specific legislation to address, added to the mix. A longer barrel isn't a big deal for them.

If these ever get an FRT, I would hope some Canadian / Canadian friendly company would make up some 18.6in barrels. Like with the ACR.
