HMG Sturmgewehr: STG-N (Pre-Order for USA)

If these ever get an FRT, I would hope some Canadian / Canadian friendly company would make up some 18.6in barrels. Like with the ACR.

One would think that they'd use the SSD MP44's as a precedant and fast track these. (fat chance I know)
In regards to post #11 (rcmp going to shot show to get "ahead" of classifications), perhaps a letter to the Auditor General is in order should you have some more specific info. After all, if this is why they're going, we should see faster times, no?

And here is the first one... Courtesy of the MAC Instagram account.

Very sharp! Thanks!

Just watch, the RCMP will ban it because it is a Kalashnikov variant.

The RCMP Firearms Lab, in its infinite "wisdom", banned the Blaze-47, a Mossberg .22LR rifle with a blowback action (like most .22's) because it LOOKED like an AK.

What that rifle really is is a Mossberg Blaze .22LR rifle dressed up with AK plastic. It has NOTHING in common with an AK rifle except its looks, but that was enough for the Firearms Lab.

With those twits, anything is possible as long as it has anything to do with a Kalashnikov.

There is recourse - take it to a reference hearing. The Lab does NOT classify guns, they issue a regulatory opinion from which regulatory handling is put in place, a reference hearing can result in an order to effectively disagree with that opinion and shape the regulation differently.

If I was Mossberg's Canadian distributor, AND had the money to pay for the lawyers, I would do just that. Having said that, by refusing to issue a FRT for the Blaze-47 based on looks, they have effectively banned it from sale in Canada. The Firearms Lab may not classify firearms, but they sure as hell can prevent sales by their actions. I call that being able to ban firearms.

While at SHOT we had the chance to speak with the folks at HMG and examine the StG. They seemed very open minded to Canadian sales and producing a non-restricted barrel option.
