Just discovered I own a Winchester Model 70 in 264 Win Mag.
Perched on top is an older Bausch & Lomb 4x12 AO Scope Chief.

There is a Zeiss Terra 3X in 4x12-42 with the RZ8 reticle.

Is this worthy of a swap?
The Zeiss is clearer, but not sure whether I'm going forward or back doing the swap
short of some range time.

WSY?

I am probably like a "heathen" but a scope needs to function as a sight first, as a viewing thing second? So the sighting functions - hold zero - respond to turret input, is more important to me than the "view". I do not "glass" with a scope - I use binoculars for that - might be frowned on in some circles, but I am kinda old and do not care.

No experience with a Zeiss Terra at all - closest I have is a Hensoldt Diatal - Hensoldt became or was bought by Zeiss - and no kidding - the view can be described as "breath taking"...

I do have a Scopechief VI 4-12 AO but no B&L logo, so must be from after those days of your scope, so not really any help there either!!

I say leave it alone. But if it was mine I’d likely swap them out as I’m always searching for the perfect scope for each rifle I have. There’s only a few that are safe from a switch and trip to the range but that’s half the fun:)
