As anybody used this powder??

I see Russell's Sporting Goods is selling it. It is supposed to have a burn rate between H4350 and H4831, yielding superb performance in the 270 win and short mags to name a few.

Does anybody carry it locally on the Island??

Would like to try a different powder for the 270 and see if I can fix what's not broken:D

Cheers

I've been using Hybrid 100V for the past year and it is now my go to powder for the Ruger and Ultra .375s My observations with the .375 Ultra is that I am getting 50 fps more velocity over H-4350, and I can load heavier charges of powder in either cartridge without compressing the load than I can with Re-19, due to the higher loading density of H100V.

Hodgdon's loading data must be calculated rather than shot, at least with the .30/06 loads I have worked up. The Hodgdon website lists a maximum load of 52 grs of H100V behind a 220 gr bullet, but the load I worked up is 57 grs for 2500 fps, and I began to see pressure signs at 58 grs with little velocity benefit.

Hodgdon's extreme powder line comes from an Australian manufacturer, but Hybrid 100V is made in the US by St Mark's Powder, a subsidiary of General Dynamics. Their tests suggest that the Hybrid powders might very well show better cold temperature stability than the Australian powders, although clearly it is excessive pressure that results from shooting at high temperatures that can result in dangerous situations, where loss of velocity due to cold temperatures is just a nuisance.
