planinig on going hog hunting in about a months time, and figure the best way to get a shot at one is to bait. what's the best and most economical bait around? i asked on a US site and they all said commercial deer and hog bait, but that stuff ain't available up here.

Go to an all you can eat ask them for left-overs. I bait bears like this and have had hogs come into the bait. I didn't know it was legal to shoot the until I told a friend about them. Now i look for them all the time but it seems like I only see them at work and Husky oil won't allow firearms or ammo on the job site.

sure i'll take what ever you can get me. was just about to pm you, might go sandilands, also heard good things about up near victoria beach. i'm waiting to hear back from the regional conservation offices.

Any amount of em ?

Just buy a $8 bag of Hen scratch and dump it in piles and they will come.:D

We slaughtered 1000s of wild pigs in Australia and they love old grain.

We would drive up to these big pig traps made outa steel fenceing 8ft high shaped like a giant Hart 30 ft across the pigs squeeze thru the part that meets at the top of the Hart shape to get the grain we left in the middle of the trap.

There would be any number of pigs up to 20 pigs sometimes, all in there Traped and we would roar up in the old farm truck (Car with the roof torch cut out) and start shooting :D It was a blast not real sporting but there pests,
Man them things make a racket When they know there done for.
Some times it took 15 mins before the noise stoped,
Ah them were the days.
