Hey guys, I have a chance to go hog hunting in Florida. I was told I basically get my pick on rifle, here's what the website says
Here are some of the guns that we provide:

300 Blackout
AR10
AR15
308 Bolt Action
Barrett 338 Lapua
Barrett 50 Cal. BMG
300 Blackout Pistol
Saiga 12 Gage Shotgun
Thompson Contender 300 Blackout Pistol
Russian Sniper Rifer Mosin Nagant

Biggest gun I've shot was a 30/06,
Let's hear some suggestions :d

Use the shotgun with buckshot. Bigger more forgiving spread at fast moving targets. Brian "pigman" Quacka uses
one with EXTREME PREDJUDICE!!!! Youtube him
what website?? I am in Orlando RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!

Hogproincflorida.com

I agree I would take one of each
I was also leaning toward .50bmg, it's one thing to target shoot, then chance to hunt with it sounds fun

Hey TRGSmith.
We hunt hogs down there every year. They are tough, fast and hard to kill. Head/neck shots work best, elsewhere and they keep running. Unless you are in a tree stand shooting below you 25 feet then AR-15's, 300Blackout, shotgun and any pistol is a waste of time. The Barretts have a cool factor but you will likely only get one shot off, same with the 308 bolt and any other hogs in the group will scatter instantly. They don't come out in the open much during daylight, just like deer.

Highly recommend selecting an AR-10 in 7.62 with either a 10 or 20 round mag as you get fast follow-up shots on the same or on multiple targets. Here is a taste of what you can accomplish. The big sow was just shy of 300 lbs. Equipment is DPMS panthers and ATN Gen 3+ night vision. Good luck. It quickly becomes addictive.

Can you bring your own AR?

Me and my father in law showed up well before sunrise and waited for the guide, he had forgot about the time change and we ended up waiting in what seemed like a scene from deleiverance for a while until he sun started to rise and our guides showed up. We proceeded to an area of what I was told was 100 acres, with two one way gates for the hogs to enter, the fence was honky four feet high. Originally we were the only ones booked for the day, another family showed up and we kind of got bundled with them, we were all loaded into the back of an army truck and drove into the bush. Now this other family is the type to get the heads mounted and leave the meat. Not my kind of hunting but to each their own, and yes, we got their meat anyway :) so the guides gave everyone their shooting area, there was about 3 people with rifles pointed sideways out of the truck. We then started to stalk from the front of the truck towards the back of the property, we walked maybe 2 minutes and found 4 of the big bastards romping around, I flicked the safety off and let one go and a decent sized sowed. I think my shot was a little off we saw them scatter and one stopped about 10 away inside the bush, I fired another shot and she dropped, we made our way to the hog and the guide pulled out his pistol to finish it off, whoa I said, mind if I take care of that? Sure he says, pop satisfying knowing it was down for the count he countineued to rush the hogs towards the truck. It was a different hunt for sure, the truck didn't stop firing for a while and they family ended up getting 2 really nice trophy hogs, 2nice sized sows and a another that I know was hit and damaged but was never recovered for whatever reason, cool to see people getting out I just wish they had more respect for it. We got all the meat anyways so I really can't complain, tastes delicious!
Thanks hogpro tactical hunts they are really good guys go check them out, I think they have a Facebook or whatever.
Sorry no pictures, I'll see what I can do later
Cheers

I'm sure if you took care of the paper work they would have no problem with your own firearm, don't think they care about caliber really, they were letting some 5year olds shoot a ps90 out the back of the truck and it was 5-7 I believe..
