The Ontario Liberal Government outlawed hunting of wildlife held in captivity on game farms in 2005, which essentially ended hog hunting in Ontario.

So what about "Escaped hogs".

Escaped hogs..would that not classify them as feral hogs?
Yes Masterpython they do have wild hogs is Sask, but they ain't penned up.
Someday I'd like to venture accross the border and get me one.According to my brother whos up in the Rose Valley area says theyre north of him.

We have wild boar (escaped) in MB. The entire province is declared a 'wild boar control zone'.
Basically, you don't need a licence and can hunt them on crown or private land during any season. Apparently they're hard to find though...

Thanks...

I am sure there are wild pigs in Ontario but it is like looking for a needle in a hay stack.

What is the success rate of a hog hunt in Saskatchewn? Anyone with local experience? Want to trade a deer hunt in Ontario (November)?:D

I'm not sure if that extends to non residents. Best check before you get here.

Mmmmmmmm.....a grain fed prairie deer for an acorn eat'n Ontario deer,,Nahhh:p :p
I wish I could say 'sure' but I have NO ties to landowners with hog problems in my area(Wainwright, Ab). Check the Ab, Sask regs for non-resident hog hunts.

Some of the Ontario places found a way around the law and are still operating. They now "lease" land to you for your hunt.

I know an outfitters in Peterborough area that provided hog hunting behind high fans. He got out of the hog business now. The charge was very reasonable. But I missed that opportunity.

Let me know where I can lease land for short term.
