Hog Hunting

There used to be quite a number north of Archerwell and east of Tisdale, SK. Myself and other guys in my detachment have been quite hard on them when they have shown up. Myself and another fella shot 9 of them about 2 months ago. Made them all up into sausage. Tastes great. The locals hunt them off snowmobiles and have really reduced their numbers. The boars are very hard to find in the summer when the crops and grass are high, but in the winter, if they are out during the day, they get picked off very fast. Not many left here. If local farmers discover the boars on their land, they will beg you to shoot them. Contact me/pm me if you would like good info on exact locations, etc. I will be glad to help.

What are you guys using to dispatch them with? My bro was up in Rose Valley and heard the locals talk about them but he's never seen 'em.

There are a number of places in Saskatchewan. They are not feral hogs as they are a wild hog domesticated and bred that escaped so they are like razorbacks. They can be shot at any time with no license.
Escaped hogs..would that not classify them as feral hogs?
Yes Masterpython they do have wild hogs is Sask, but they ain't penned up.
Someday I'd like to venture accross the border and get me one.According to my brother whos up in the Rose Valley area says theyre north of him.

Isnt there some sort of charge for running an animal over with a sled? Or are they shooting from a Sled?

There were 67 rural municipalities across the province in Saskatchewan were reporting wild/escaped/feral populations of wild boars.
The Moose Mountain Provincial Park in the southeast was the first area to have a major effort aimed at reducing their numbers. About 200 were killed on the north side of the park but apparently they are still numerous on the south side.
The province has established a team of sorts to deal with (eliminate) localized populations but as far as I know they have only struck one or two family groups in the Beechy area.
Another website I look at mentions there are pigs loose in zones 42 and 43 (Melfort/Tisdale areas, Carrot and Leather Rivers) and around Saskatchewan Landing.

These photos (from an email - no way to validate) were allegedly from the Outlook area:
