anyone ever tried fitting a Remington 700 after market trigger guard/mag assembly in a Hogue stock?

I'm planning upgrading my SPS Tactical to a detachable mag (probably H.S.) I might upgrade the stock to a full bedding block Hogue, but that is a Hogue non the less...

P.S. please do not tell me I should go with this or that stock instead, I like them and would like to know if this could be done.

anybody?

Casey @ tacord told me he was going to have a look at the stock and let me know, I'll post the answer when I got it from him...
I still have my doubts because of the soft rubber overmold but we'll see.

I might have to go with a different triggerguard too as the H.S. seems to be rare up here.

you told me you don't install anything else, for a very good reason that we all are aware of. I would rather go with them myself for the same reason but my problem with the VBull is it's price.

Try to guess why I went with a SPS Tacical, TPS mount and rings and a Falcon 4-14x44FFP...

I don't know who sells HS Precision mag conversions here in Canada. If they are available what is the price?

If you buy them in the US, there is shipping, brokerage and with the exchange at $1.28 yesterday for a US $1, if becomes pricey also. Import/Export paperwork is also required.

VBulls kits are not much more after you figure all the costs and the VBull quality is second to none.

why do I think HS should be cheaper if I can find one up here:

vbull = 495$cad (tacord), no clue how much $us but that is useless info anyway...
badger = 330$us (midway) vs 367$cad (wolverine),
H.S. = 280$us (midway), no clue how much $cad as i do not know of anyone selling them.

unless the middle man fills up the gap to make a bigger profit, if I understand correctly it should be cheaper... so my problem with that is finding a dealer willing to help me get what I want.

but to bring this thread back on track, I was simply asking if anybody knows if a Hogue stock (pillar or full block) could be inletted to fit an aftermarket detachable magazine kit (who cares what make).

thanks.

### International shows both HS and Mcmillan stocks on their web site. I didn't see price but you can always contact them. Just add a dot com to ################
Good luck

The HS detachable will drop in, the Badger & VBull will require additional inletting, how well the rubber stock will take to milling is anyones guess, personally I would spend the $$ on a better stock.

mmm, that is a good news: avoiding to mess with the rubber altogether is a better option for sure.
that way i can leave the stock unaltered until I gather the coins for a better stock, and try selling the pillar bedded Hogue with bottom metal to afford the next upgrade.

I found a dealer for the HS, it is indeed a bit cheaper (349.95$) that is with the 5rds mag, but it brought something to my attention that I was not considering before; the price of the mags...

VBull (AI) 10rds = 92,95$
Badger 10rds = 94.50$

and for the grand finally:
HS 10rds = 174,95$
