I was looking up grips and stumbled across this cool replacement for the upper slide&barrel on all 1911's. The site states they haven't been released yet. Has anyone heard more about them? Or if they'll be available in Canada?

If the Avenger recoils like other fixed barrel semiautomatic pistols you want no part of it. Shoot a Browning linked barrel and a fixed barrel 380 and you will agree. Regards, Richard:D

After a bit of lookin' Its designed in Germany, will cost $900 and makes your 1911 look alot like that $30 crossman airpistol they sell at Canadian Tire. I think with the original cost of a 1911 and the $900 add on, it'd make more sense to go order a dlask or 2011 SVT. But Im sure someone will buy one...at least crossman sells a holster that will fit it.

Most of my pistols are 9mm gas delayed blowbacks. I prefer the recoil from the fixed barrel over the 1911 style and the tilting lock systems. Fixed barrels have #### all for muzzle flip, just a straight push.

So the barrel is affixed to the slide? How does the gun cycle then?

It looks to have a "blowback bolt" like the UMP45 or Beretta CX4 storm.

Although what looks to be the ejection port, seems to be pretty far forewards.... Mabey just a portion of the slide moves, like the Desert Eagle???? Who knows....

Weird design...
