Hogue Extreme aluminum grips

wow. I can't see how you could market those things for more than 70-90 bucks.
There isn't really a lot of aluminum there and machine time and number of operations looks relatively low. That is some mad markup. For that price surly they could machine in the SIG emblem like the plastic.

My grips arrived today, they fit perfectly and slim down the grip a lot - it's surprising how much better of a grip I have with them on. My support hand just hugs the frame and I noticed while dry firing that my sights are not moving as much.

The only thing is that they feel like grabbing sandpaper - it's too rough for my liking right now but with some use it will wear down I'm sure and feel just right.

Well worth the money, 8 business days for them to be delivered to me from Hogue directly

Pics will be later - my other SIG should be here today :ar15:

edit: CP is retarded, but here are the grips ... man my gun looks like new still, not even holster wear on the finish - love it! ps the ladies at Hogue are excellent to deal with, if anyone is on the fence for their products just hop off because they have excellent customer service (in my experience) and are very friendly

Sell your 226R and get a 226 Elite Dark. It comes with awesome aluminum grips and a bunch of other elite features. If the grips are a $200 addition to an $1100 Sig, then why not buy the Elite Dark and upgrade the whole gun.

I don't know if I like the new aluminum grips on the elite dark. The ones on mine seem different. The early elite darks had diffrenet grips I guess. As for quality, I stand behind my dark. Its solid, and tighter than my previous 226R. It also has the front serrations, beavertail, SRT, adjustable night sights, etc. I'll keep it forever, unless a E2 Elite Dark comes out, then I might trade up.

Good to know. Ill check it out.

Edit: the Enhance Elite appears to come with plastic grips and fixed night sights, not aluminum and adjustable. Other than that, it looks nice.

I prefer the fixed sights to the adjustable ones personally, but the premise of the E2 is to get the plastic ergo grips so I guess it works out for those who need it. I just prefer the aluminum grips right now

Don't know if it's official or not, but it is said that for 2011 the E2 model will be dropped and the new E2 grips will be standard on all models. Now all other grips (including the regular 2 piece polymer grips) will be available separatly. Announcement to be made at Shot show.
