Could someone provide me the centre-to-centre distance for the grip screws on an actual Sig P226R?

I've impulse purchased a set of Hogue grips for my NP-58 (P226R clone) and they are coming up about ¼in or so short. Is the error:

a) My own fault. The Norinco NP-58's are close but not an exact copy of the P226R.

b) The gunshops. They sold me grips for a P-220 or something else a little smaller than a P-226R.

c) It's my fault in any event as I should have had the firearm with me.

TIA.

To fit the grips must be for a 226 and keep in mind Hogue grips new may not fit easily and often require some stretching.

Actually, these have a hard plastic backing behind the rubber. Ain't gonna stretch no way no how.

for SIG 226R the distance is 65mm (2"550)

I dug out my vernier and yes, the grips are 55mm centre-to-centre and the NP58 is 65mm.

I'll drop by and see if I can get them exchanged.

Thnx again.

If you do manage to get grips that fit, please let me know where ya got them. I'm looking to replace the plastic grips on my NP-58 as well.

mine fits perfectly and i've seen others here on CGN done it without problem. must be the wrong grips for the gun. careful not to tighten the screw too much . the thread on the frame is extremely easy to strip.
