Is there a Canadian importer for Hogue grips? I've tried a couple of places in the US (including Brownells) but they won't ship to Canada for no apparent reason.

If you let people know what you're looking for someone might have an extra that they would part with.

I had ordered last summer twice from them, keeping the order under $100.00. no problem, and was faster then wait for a dealer to get them.
You can keep looking on the EE too, I found some really nice one at good price.

Was the order over $100? I've ordered Hogue grips form them a few times, as well as directly from Hogue.

Elwood epps has a whole isle of grips, Hogue are about 20% of them, and they are the cheapest, anywhere from $20+ theres a bunch of pacmeyer ones and the bling goes up from there. See sponsors link...

I went through this with Brownell's a couple of weeks ago. Apparently each manufacturer now needs to get some kind of export license/permit to ship out of the country, even if it's under $100. Brownells would be happy to ship you the grips, but Hogue did not get the appropriate paperwork done. I never bothered to check with Hogue directly if they were getting things processed, or just opted not to bother. I ended up finding a set of grips in Canada.

Yep- new State Dept. idiot regs. All mfrs. must be registered with them before their produts can be exported. I went through the same problem when I tried to order a set of Pearce slim grips for my 1911. However, I called Pearce and they WERE reg'd. with the State Dept. Somehow the info hadn't made it through to Brownell's. (Brownell's paperwork must be staggering, given the number of mfrs. they represent.) The long-suffering Sandy Moranville at Brownell's double-checked and she was able to catch the order and add the grips. However, the Greider trigger was a no-go.

The regs. are so confusing that often the mfrs. don't know what is what. Williams Gunsights got their "poop in a group" so they can export- even directly from their office to your front door. Marbles, OTOH, are still trying to figure it all out. So we can order Williams sights from Brownell's but not Marbles, at least so far.

Solution: Put the bureaucrats in an old boat and tow far out to sea. Sink with naval gunfire.
