Holding ZERO!!!!! Need your input

For your 3-400yd shooting, is it for target or hunting? In my opinion you need a LOT less power for shooting big game at those distances than for target.

Any scope that isn't built for rimfire/piece of crap should hold zero just fine on a .30-06.

That's a big negatory CarbineOne.

If your looking to get accuracy like I am it sucks to have to correct every 3-4 rounds cause your scope won't hold zero. TRUST me they do not all hold zero and I'm not talking about crappy scopes you can but at wally's.

Not going to go into details just because I don't want the thread to be biased on my oppinion.

I would rather gather what you think holds a true zero or not and make my own conclusion.

Cheaper stuff, I have heard many say good things about Sightron as well. I do not own a Sightron though.

Leupold VX3 or better, Rings make a HUGE difference too. Burris has a nice 1.5-6 that would work zeiss conquest, not too expensive, Bushnell 4200 or better should be fine. I am not a huge leupold fan but we do have 7 as they hold zero, get banged around and when warranty is needed is available. I always buy them used for 1/2 price or less, they do work well.

I have a B&L 3000 3x9x40, the predecesor to the Bushnell 3200. It has held up very well on my 30-06, holds a zero and the 1/4 minute adjustments are very precise. A good scope and a good value for the money.

You misunderstood my post, I'm saying any scope that CAN'T hold up to .30-06 is a piece of crap.

Anything 'greater than' Leupold is a sure bet. I've had decent luck with Bushnell, seen some issues that weren't exactly recoil related (elevation adjustment made the reticle go diagonal). I've got a Millet 1-4x that's seen a few hundred rounds on my M-14, seems to be a fairly solid optic.

For a nice bright scope, with good glass, reasonable price, and pretty much lifetime workmanship - Leupold or Nikon will do very well. I got Nikon, and 30-06 rifle. Very happy with it.
For that distance of 300-400 yards, you need more than 9x magnification.
