Hi Guys

I'm looking into info on reloading a Smith & Wesson Victory in 38S&W. I'm thinking a hollow based bullet would be the best so it will expand up to fill the 360 diameter barrel, but I can only find cast wad cutter bullets with a hollow base.

I'm not familiar with wad cutter bullets, what are the pro's and cons?

This handgun will only be used to puch paper at close range.

Thanks folks!

Problem is the 148 grain hollow base wadcutter is longer or is as long as the 38 S&W case.

May work if you only partially seat them but all loaded rounds I have ever seen has the bullet flush with the case mouth.

The bullet doesn't have to be seated flush with the mouth of the case, as is common practice with .38 Special. Years ago I had a .38 S&W Colt Police Positive, and loaded may rounds with the bullet seated for normal oal. Shot just fine.

Cast Boolits is having a group buy for .38/200 bullet mold. Which I believe would be the proper bullet in Dia. & Gr for the Enfield/Webley and the S&W. Even if you don't cast yourself, if you have the mold, chances are you can get someone to do it for you.
