Hollow Point Ammo, Lots of pics!

You are one generous Nut! Appreciate your contribution!

Here is what I have collected over the years. Old school stuff for sure!

A couple there I haven't had a chance to try. I'm planning to post a thread on 9mm HP ammo testing I chrono'd from a G19 and Ruger PCC. Some really interesting results. There's a couple you have that would be interesting to compare Mark.

I like the hollow point ammo too for some reason. I had an opportunity a few years ago to get a good quantity of 9mm SXT's, some Golden Sabres, and Hydra Shocks too. Recently acquired some .38 +P Winchester in regular JHP & Silvertips, and some CCI Lawman JSP in their original sealed plastic yellow boxes they used to come in.

Yes very cool. I've used Hornady .44 Mag FTX rounds when deer hunting - Hollowpoint with a plastic 'plunger' on top that initiates rapid expansion even at lower velocities. A VERY effective round on critters. On the few deer we used them on the exit wounds indicated total and devastating expansion.

I noticed that Budget Shooter Supply had the Berry's Hybrid Hollow Point bullets on his website just before he shut down briefly a while ago to handle what i guess was a flood of orders. I was thinking of getting some of the .45 ACP - "just because" - but I see they're not there now. I've read some reviews of those and they seem to perform well in tests. My er... "serious" 45 ACP ammo is loaded with 200 gr. Gold Dots, and Hornady XTP for 9mm. I have some of Jethunter's 150 gr. hollow points for .38 Special.

Love that other guys are into this stuff too! The black talons are what started it for me, but the first 9mm HP I got were the 9mm hydra -shok’s wasn’t until years later I got some black talons, and then I wanted one of two or 50 of everything.

These also fall under the same category, Missing 308, and 7.62x39. And apparently 300BLk was also one, but I never seen it even when this stuff was everywhere.

I don't collect ammo, but that is very cool. That Sig V-Crown stuff looks like it's trying to eat you standing still!

I have a FX-9 and picked up some rounds for bush use, I bought some hornady Critical Duty and some Winchester Rangers but plan to reload some. I saw that federal now sells the HST bullets as reloading components but have not seen them yet in Canada, But the Hornady XTP and Speer Gold Dot seem to be pretty common to find around. Probably the XTP tho from research they have more penetration a bit less expansion so better to get into vitals of animals the Gold Dots have better expansion but less penetration so better for home defense against 2 legged predators but that's illegal in canada to defend yourself from those predators.
