Hollow point molds

I have the 305gr 45/70 HP mold and it is a pain to use. Think 30 bullets an hour. You have to let every bullet firmly harden before opening. I see they don't even make that mold anymore. Any little thing gets into all those moving parts and it screws up the bullet. I have 33 different bullet molds.. A softer 305 FP mold is just as good. IMHO
I would set up a drill press and drill out 450 FP before I bought a HP mold.

MP molds work great. I have a couple in 9mm, 3 in 45 acp, 2 in .38 spc, 2 in 44 mag and 2 in 45/70. Once they are up to temperature and with some tin added to the mix away you go. I have a 4 cavity hp for a 9mm that just flat out works great and can easily kick out 400-500 bullets per hour.

NOE molds are also good and work as they should.

While I have no opinion on HP molds, I don't own any....however, as mentioned, I have opened up my 311041 bullets with the HP fixture on the Forster Classic trimmer and also on a drill press.
I don't see the point of HP a 45, it's already making a big enough hole:p

I had a Lee hollow point mold. It worked ok, made useable bullets. I sold it because it was a plain base mold. I have an NOE RG2 hollow point mold and once you get it up to temperature it works well. You need it real hot or they stick to the pins. I had an MP Molds Cramer style and it worked just as good, but not quite as fast. The MP molds can get you the penta pins for very cool looking bullets that open up kinda like the Barnes TSX. You have to pay extra for all the pins though. NOE includes hollow point pins, cup point pins and flat nose pins at no extra cost. They’re a bit cheaper to purchase too. Noe is my mold of choice.

I have a noe hp 9mm mould. Works great. I can get a lot of bullets made in an hour even with a 2 cavity. They make hp moulds for 30-30 and 45/70. They will be listed as rg2 or rg4 and come with flat point, cup and hp pins.

NOE does not have the Ranch Dog mold I want in stock.

Lee used to have a 4570 405g hollow point mould. I have one that i casted a few with but never shot any of them so don't know how well they will hold up

I have that Lee hollow point mould.. It does have issues.. Does make nice bullets.. Killed a 58'' moose.. Dropped it to it's knees.. Came apart on the hide after the second shoulder 20 - 1 mix
